About this role

Overview:

The Aftermarket Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying and developing aftermarket opportunities across the company's existing and prospective customer base. This field-based role focuses on expanding lifecycle revenue through preventive maintenance (PM) contracts, increased parts sales, and equipment rebuild opportunities. The position is responsible for executing business development strategies, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting competitive pricing initiatives to maximize aftermarket revenue and profitability. The role is primarily focused on revenue generation and business development rather than direct account management or day-to-day service operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Drive incremental aftermarket revenue across assigned region

- Develop and expand PM contract penetration across installed base

- Convert inspections into rebuild opportunities

- Increase parts pull-through tied to service activity

- Execute installed base campaigns and customer visits

- Partner with Sales without taking account ownership

- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required:

- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in aftermarket sales, business development, industrial equipment sales, or a related field.

- Demonstrated success in aftermarket, service, parts, rental, or equipment lifecycle sales, with a proven ability to generate incremental revenue.

- Proven ability to proactively identify business opportunities, develop customer relationships, and generate demand beyond responding to requests for quotations (RFQs).

- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assess equipment conditions, understand maintenance requirements, and recognize potential service, repair, or rebuild opportunities.

- Ability and willingness to spend significant time in the field visiting customer locations, evaluating equipment populations, and engaging with operations and maintenance personnel.

- Results-oriented mindset with demonstrated accountability for achieving measurable revenue targets and business development objectives.

- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively alongside existing sales representatives while respecting established account ownership and responsibilities.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to document sales opportunities, maintain accurate pipeline information, and coordinate with Inside Sales and Operations teams to support quoting and execution.

- Ability to work independently, manage a large geographic territory, prioritize opportunities, and execute business development activities with limited supervision.

- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, operational leaders, and internal stakeholders.

Preferred:

- Seven to ten or more years of relevant experience in aftermarket sales, business development, or lifecycle revenue generation within the oil and gas or industrial equipment industries.

- Previous experience with natural gas compression equipment, rotating equipment, artificial lift systems, engines, pumps, or other service-intensive industrial equipment.

- Strong knowledge of the Permian Basin and broader U.S. upstream oil and gas market, including customer operations, equipment applications, and aftermarket service needs.

- Established relationships with field-level operations, maintenance, reliability, and purchasing personnel within the oil and gas industry.

- Experience developing and expanding recurring revenue streams through preventive maintenance (PM) agreements, service contracts, parts programs, equipment inspections, reliability initiatives, or similar aftermarket offerings.

- Experience identifying equipment rebuild opportunities and supporting lifecycle maintenance strategies designed to maximize equipment performance and customer value.

- Familiarity with aftermarket pricing strategies, service profitability, and margin optimization.
