The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting financial reporting, full-cycle accounting, and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions.
The role requires a strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and end-to-end accounting processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, trial balance reporting, financial statement preparation, and audit support.
Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, external auditors, tax advisors, and regional finance teams, the Financial Analyst supports accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, effective internal controls, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
• Preparing and supporting full-cycle accounting activities across assigned legal entities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, trial balance reporting, and related financial reporting deliverables.
• Executing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely completion of journal entries, supporting schedules, account reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
• Preparing monthly and quarterly trial balance reporting packages, analyze general ledger activity, investigate significant variances, and identify accounting issues requiring follow-up or escalation.
• Preparing and maintaining general ledger, balance sheet, bank, and intercompany reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve outstanding items.
• Supporting the preparation of annual tax financial statements and related supporting schedules for Canadian and U.S. entities, including general ledger tie-outs, reconciliations, variance analysis, and coordination with internal Tax teams.
• Assisting with statutory audits, financial statement preparation, and external audit requirements across applicable jurisdictions, including preparing supporting schedules, responding to auditor requests, and coordinating follow-up on outstanding items.
• Preparing and supporting regulatory reporting and tax compliance requirements, including applicable pension, regulatory, GST/HST, VAT, BAS, and other jurisdiction-specific reporting and filing deliverables.
• Preparing Asset Management Fee calculations, estimates, supporting analyses, and related revenue and corporate recharge billing activities, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation of transactions.
• Supporting operational accounting activities across assigned regions, including intercompany transactions, cross-border chargebacks, invoice processing and coding, cash management, funding-related requests, and other accounting matters.
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities, including preparing supporting schedules, analyzing financial results, and providing explanations for significant variances.
• Collaborating with Finance, Tax, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Human Resources, external auditors, tax advisors, and regional stakeholders to resolve accounting matters and ensure timely completion of reporting and operational deliverables.
• Supporting the maintenance of effective financial controls, accounting policies, and reporting procedures to ensure compliance with internal requirements and applicable accounting standards.
• Identifying opportunities to improve accounting and financial reporting processes, strengthen internal controls, and support system enhancements, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supporting ad hoc financial analyses, accounting projects, and operational initiatives across assigned legal entities and regions, ensuring timely completion and appropriate escalation of issues.
Required Skills & Experience:
Education & Professional Qualifications
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- CPA designation or active pursuit of a CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum three years of relevant accounting, financial reporting, or audit experience, preferably within a large corporate or multinational organization.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles, IFRS, and financial reporting requirements.
- Working knowledge of full-cycle accounting and month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, trial balance reporting, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience preparing financial reporting packages, general ledger reconciliations, variance analyses, and supporting schedules, including investigating discrepancies and identifying accounting issues.
- Experience supporting internal or external audits, financial statement preparation, tax reporting, or regulatory filings is considered an asset.
Systems, Excel & Emerging Technology
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards, Yardi, or similar financial systems.
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools and emerging technologies, with the ability to leverage AI to improve efficiency, automate processes, and enhance financial reporting and analysis.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet competing deadlines, and deliver accurate results in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The expected salary range for this position is $62,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year.
