Key Responsibilities May Include:
Develop, implement and continually improve safety programs to improve capability and capacity to drive HSE performance and compliance . Proactively drive safety initiatives, including leading indicator programs that foster a preventive approach to HSE performance. Oversee incident claims from inception through to closure, ensuring timely resolution and corrective actions towards future prevention. Establish and enforce standardized environmental practices in alignment with company policies and relevant regulations. Track and report monthly HSE performance metrics, working with a range of stakeholders including service center managers to implement operating procedures and reporting processes.
The Regional HSE Specialist is responsible for working closely with operational personnel in an assigned region to give support and technical assistance for the implementation and administration of the Health, Safety and Environmental programs and Regional Employee HSE Training. This position reports directly to the Regional HSE Manager -US. This role is a key resource and provides functional direction and technical support to Plant Management teams in developing and implementing strategies to improve HSE performance, as well as compliance with Brambles/CHEP standards and local, state and federal regulatory requirements.
What You Will Do:
Major/Key Accountabilities
- Develop and implement initiatives and programs designed to reduce injuries across assigned region for US Brambles-operated sites and for CHEP and Brambles field-based employees
- Ensure plant equipment is designed to meet internal standards for safety and advocate for ongoing improvements to equipment and people safety through engineering controls
- Lead initiatives for regional site improvements to machine guarding standards and the engineering of safer tools and machines ensuring alignment with regional HSE initiatives
- Lead initiatives for identification and prioritization for risk through workstation risk assessments
- Serve as HSE subject matter expert for designated region, supporting plant and region leadership team
- Assist multiple sites in implementing a robust Safety Management System and provide support for corrective actions identified during internal and/or external audits
- Apply Human and Organizational Performance principals through facilitation of the development and training of Learning Teams at the site level in support of the Safety First strategy
- Ensure that all applicable safety and environmental incidents are reported in a timely fashion, investigated properly, and classified and reported according to Brambles procedures and applicable regulatory requirements
- Generate and publish incident reports and alerts as necessary
- Drive improvements across assigned region based upon Coach Positive audit data, leading indicators, internal audit findings, and workstation risk assessments
- Support regional initiatives and HSE projects as needed
What You Will Bring:
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in a Safety role as an individual contributor and or manager of people
Skills and Knowledge
- Intimate and detailed knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations in North America
- Highly skilled in the use of the iCare EHS system (preferred)
- Skilled communicator, both oral and written, and able to present effectively at all levels in the organization

- Preferably remote-based in New England area of U.S.
- Supporting 3 primary service centers: Scarborough, ME, Wilmington, MA and Livonia, MI (site support subject to change)
- Travel requirements between 25-30%
- Manufacturing environment with conveyor systems, forklifts, automated equipment, assembly lines and some robotics with an average of 60-80 employees at each site
