Job Title: Technician - Electrical & Mechanical Assembly Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Technician specializing in Electrical & Mechanical Assembly to support the build, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of advanced robotic and electromechanical systems. This role involves close collaboration with engineers and production personnel to assemble robotic equipment, electrical panels, wiring harnesses, sensors, actuators, and mechanical subassemblies used in industrial automation applications.
Responsibilities
- Assemble complex electromechanical and robotic systems from engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Perform electrical wiring, cable routing, connector termination, crimping, and soldering.
- Build and integrate mechanical assemblies including brackets, frames, enclosures, motors, gearboxes, and robotic components.
- Assemble and install wiring harnesses, control panels, sensors, actuators, and other electrical components.
- Perform functional testing, troubleshooting, and repair of assemblies.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and assembly equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.
- Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues during the assembly process.
- Support prototype builds, product development efforts, and engineering change implementation.
- Maintain accurate build documentation and quality records.
- Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing quality standards.
- Assist with inventory management, material handling, and workstation organization.
Essential Skills
- Experience with electrical assembly, mechanical assembly, wiring, and soldering.
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
- Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial sensors.
- Experience with prototype builds and engineering development projects.
- Knowledge of test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, and oscilloscopes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Robotics, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
- Experience assembling robotics, automated equipment, machinery, or industrial control systems.
- IPC soldering certification or similar electronics assembly certification.
- Experience in robotics, automation, aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing environments.
Work Environment
The work environment is characterized by low speed and high mix product manufacturing. The role involves working in a cell manufacturing setup, where individuals will collaborate with engineering teams to build next-generation robotic technologies that have real-world impact across energy, mining, infrastructure, and industrial markets.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
