AWS Global Events is seeking a Sr. Virtual Event Lead to own the virtual event strategy across our portfolio. At the heart of this role is innovative content programming: defining new ways of bringing virtual events to market and developing bold, media-caliber programming that reimagines what a virtual event can be. The ideal candidate has experience developing content for media and entertainment platforms, a track record of innovating new ideas and formats, and an entertainment or social media background they draw on to push virtual experiences beyond the conventional. They are a creative, strategic leader who can set a vision for virtual experiences, influence senior stakeholders, and partner across content, production, demand generation, and technology teams to deliver differentiated virtual programming at scale.

Key job responsibilities
- Own the virtual event strategy for AWS Global Events, setting the vision and roadmap for how virtual experiences are designed, delivered, and measured across the portfolio.
-Define new ways of bringing virtual events to market, identifying formats, channels, and audience experiences that differentiate AWS virtual programming.
- Develop innovative, compelling ideas for virtual event programming, from concept through execution, in partnership with content, production, and demand generation teams.
- Partner with event production, event technology, and vendor teams to translate strategy into high-quality, scalable virtual event experiences.
- Establish standards, playbooks, and best practices for virtual event programming and continuously raise the bar on attendee experience and engagement.
- Define and track key performance indicators for virtual events, using data and audience insights to optimize programming and demonstrate business impact.
- Influence and align senior stakeholders on virtual event strategy, priorities, and investment decisions.

Basic Qualifications

- Experience using data and metrics to drive actionable insights at scale
- Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders
- 7+ years of professional non-internship marketing, events, or content programming experience.
- Experience building, executing, and scaling cross-functional global programs from concept to completion.
- Experience setting strategy and developing new programs or formats that drive measurable business impact.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with media production.
- Experience with virtual event production.
- Experience with out-of-the-box content production such as social, or media and entertainment.
- Event planning experience, including virtual and hybrid execution, for large-scale programs.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
