We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented compliance professional to support regulatory compliance, governance, and risk management activities across the organization. This role is responsible for monitoring regulatory developments, providing compliance advice to business units, coordinating governance initiatives, and ensuring compliance obligations are effectively managed.
The successful candidate will work closely with business teams, risk and control functions, senior stakeholders, and regulators to promote a strong compliance culture and help ensure the organization meets both regulatory and Group requirements
You'll be responsible for:
Regulatory Change Monitoring & Advisory
- Monitor and assess BNM regulatory changes, including gap analyses and compliance reviews, with clear communication to Business Units and tracking of action items
- Provide timely, practical, and risk-based regulatory advice to Business Units
- Review communications and submissions to BNM and ensure all regulatory deliverables meet expected standards and timelines
- Responsible for maintaining and updating the Regulatory Compliance Management tool to ensure it remains updated and aligned with regulatory changes
- Coordinate the planning and delivery of Regulatory Compliance and Governance training and awareness initiatives across the Companies.
Allianz Group requirements relating to the System of Governance (SoG)
- Coordinate and execute Governance & Control Committee (GovCC) meetings and oversee compliance within the SoG, (e.g Solvency II policies), including conducting gap analyses and adequacy assessments.
- Lead / support implementation of key governance tasks and methodologies (e.g. Horizontal & Vertical Oversight Methodology, Compliance Assurance Risk and Effectiveness, Statement of Accountability, etc.)
- Drive alignment between Group requirements and local regulations, including updates to internal policies.
Oversight on Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM)
- Support implementation of NFRM, including oversight of risk assessments and key control testing
- Ensure timely completion of risk deliverables (e.g., KRIs, Top Risks, Freeze Orders)
Compliance Monitoring & Control Assurance
- Oversee and execute Compliance Reviews in accordance to the Annual Compliance Plan.
- Review control testing results to ensure robustness and defensibility
- Monitor compliance issues and ensure timely remediation, while maintaining oversight of monitoring tools and systems
Reporting & Deliverable Management
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of Board, Audit Committee, and Risk Committee papers
- Maintain high standards of documentation, review, and sign-off processes, including proper documentation and record-keeping for audit readiness
Leadership & People Development
- Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team
- Undertake continuous professional development, including required learning hours and certifications
- Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to team members
- Contribute to process improvements and efficiency enhancements
Strategic Initiatives
- Build strong relationships with Business Units, senior management, and Group stakeholders
- Facilitate effective cross-functional coordination among key functions.
Others
- Support the role as the Secretariat of the Due Diligence Working Group (DDWG) to provide advice to and guide the Business Unit(s) for the presentation of their Related Party Transaction and Recurrent Related Party Transaction (RPT and/or RRPTs)
Important to your success:
- Bachelor's Degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Compliance, Risk Management, Governance, Audit, Legal, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) regulations and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience in compliance monitoring, regulatory advisory, governance reviews, or risk management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with stakeholders at different levels.
- Proficient in the use of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar technologies to enhance productivity and work quality.
