Job Title: Lab Technician Quality Control Job Description The Lab Technician Quality Control performs routine and advanced laboratory testing on finished products and incoming raw materials to ensure they meet established quality standards. This role focuses on accurate sample analysis, careful documentation, and collaboration with the quality team in a manufacturing-based quality laboratory. Responsibilities
- Perform quality control testing on finished product materials and incoming raw materials according to established procedures and specifications.
- Conduct laboratory tests such as titrations, refractive index measurements, viscosity testing, and sand testing with a high degree of accuracy.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including an auto titrator, refractive index instruments, and gas chromatography (GC) equipment as needed.
- Prepare, handle, and analyze samples in a safe, organized, and efficient manner, following all laboratory protocols.
- Assist in generating and reviewing certificates of analysis to verify that product quality meets required standards.
- Accurately record, enter, and verify test data in laboratory systems and databases to ensure complete and reliable documentation.
- Identify and communicate any out-of-specification results or quality concerns to the appropriate team members in a timely manner.
- Follow all quality, safety, and housekeeping procedures to maintain a clean, compliant, and efficient laboratory environment.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to support continuous improvement of testing methods and quality processes.
- Participate in shift-based work schedules, including potential Saturday coverage, to support production and quality needs.
Essential Skills
- Bachelors degree in a science discipline such as chemistry, physics, biology, forensic science, biochemistry, or a closely related scientific field.
- Hands-on laboratory experience in chemistry, biology, physics, or related sciences, including familiarity with standard lab practices.
- Proficiency in performing titrations and interpreting results accurately.
- Experience with viscosity testing and refractive index measurements in a laboratory setting.
- Ability to work with quality control and sample testing processes in a production or laboratory environment.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure precise measurements, accurate data entry, and reliable test results.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player in a collaborative lab and manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a quality control laboratory within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with operating an auto titrator and related analytical instruments.
- Exposure to gas chromatography (GC) techniques and basic understanding of chromatographic data.
- coursework in multiple scientific disciplines such as chemistry, biology, physics, or biochemistry.
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple samples, tests, and documentation requirements.
- Effective communication skills to share test results and quality findings with colleagues and other departments.
Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing facility within a dedicated quality laboratory. The primary schedule is on 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. An additional opening operates on a schedule of 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the possibility of transitioning to 2nd shift hours in the future. Availability for some Saturday work, typically up to two Saturdays per month, may be required depending on production needs. The environment combines a production setting with a controlled lab space, where you will work with analytical instruments such as auto titrators, refractive index equipment, and gas chromatography systems. The facility follows standard laboratory and manufacturing safety practices, and you will spend most of your time in the quality lab performing tests, handling samples, and entering data.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
