MECHANICAL DESIGNER

Mechanical Designer / Drafter

Join a growing engineering team responsible for designing custom equipment and mechanical systems from concept through production. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams while gaining exposure to the full product development lifecycle. Using SolidWorks, you'll create detailed production and assembly drawings, develop 3D models, maintain engineering documentation, and support manufacturing efforts to ensure designs are translated into high-quality, production-ready solutions.

What You'll Do

- Create detailed production, fabrication, and assembly drawings using SolidWorks
- Develop and modify 3D models for custom equipment and mechanical systems
- Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the ERP system
- Manage CAD files, revisions, and documentation through SolidWorks PDM/Vault
- Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and maintain accurate design records
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams throughout project execution
- Support production teams by answering technical questions and resolving drawing-related issues
- Visit the manufacturing floor to verify designs, review equipment builds, and troubleshoot production concerns
- Utilize AutoCAD as needed to support project requirements

What We're Looking For

Designer I

- Associate degree in Drafting & Design, Mechanical Design, or related field; OR
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Recent graduates encouraged to apply

Designer II

- 2+ years of SolidWorks experience
- Manufacturing environment experience preferred
- Experience creating production and assembly drawings

Required Skills

- SolidWorks drafting and 3D modeling
- Mechanical design and drafting fundamentals
- Manufacturing and fabrication drawing creation
- BOM management and ERP systems
- SolidWorks PDM/Vault or similar document management systems
- Engineering change management processes
- AutoCAD experience
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and fabrication methods
- Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Experience

- Industrial equipment, machinery, or custom manufacturing systems
- Production support and manufacturing troubleshooting
- Working directly with fabrication, machining, welding, or assembly teams
- Managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of YORK, NE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $70000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
