The Role:
### Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant, AP Specialist supports day-to-day accounting activities while contributing to the improvement and modernization of NBS’s financial systems and processes. This role brings together accounting knowledge, technical skills, and analytical thinking to strengthen accounts payable and receivable processes, support general accounting, and help identify opportunities to automate manual workflows. The successful candidate will also contribute to financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting, and month-end and year-end close activities - helping ensure accurate, timely financial information to support decisions across the organization.

What You’ll Do:
- Manage Core Accounting Activities: Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting activities at NBS.
- Improve Financial Processes: Help modernize accounts payable systems, processes, and workflows by identifying, testing, and implementing solutions to automate manual tasks.
- Support Financial Systems: Maintain and support upgrades and improvements to the Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT financial system.
- Contribute to Financial Close: Support month-end and year-end financial close processes, including reconciliations and accurate financial reporting.
- Support Budgeting and Forecasting: Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Develop Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain financial reports and dashboards in collaboration with budget managers across NBS departments.

- Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- 2-5 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, and analysis
- Experience with accounts payable and general accounting processes
- Experience with financial system testing and implementation
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to handle a high volume of work with minimal supervision while working independently and collaboratively
- Sound judgement and analytical problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify errors, analyze reports, and determine appropriate corrective actions
## Compensation:
Salary Range: $63,000–$67,000 annually, commensurate with experience and aligned with internal equity.
