About this role
Job Title: ELECTRICAL ENGINEER- THIS IS 100% REMOTE WITH DATANNOTATION- THIS ROLE IS 1099 AND PAID THROUGH PAYPAL BETWEEN $40/HR-$125/HR PER PROJECT Experts evaluate how frontier AI models handle real electrical and electronics engineering work: a circuit to specify, a control loop to stabilize, a link budget to close, a power stage to size, a signal chain to debug. The models can already talk fluently about electronics; what they cannot yet do reliably is the actual work. Authors design open-ended tasks that capture real engineering workflows (for example a photonic test-circuit layout, an embedded telemetry PCB power and thermal redesign, or a mixed-signal design review), run them through frontier models, and grade what comes back against a professional standard. The work is long-form and self-directed, and fully remote, with no shift work. A task is drawn from the author's own practice, built from the files a practitioner actually handles (schematics, simulation setups, datasheets, board files, measurement data), and run through frontier models so the deliverable can be graded. Authors also compare two model outputs on identical prompts, write the grading rubrics that define a correct deliverable, and flag concrete failures with evidence: unstated or wrong assumptions, sign and unit errors, unphysical results, invalid component or topology choices, misapplied approximations, fabricated datasheet values, and misread schematics or plots. Must-haves 2+ years of industry experience in circuit or electronics engineering, currently or recently doing the technical work as an individual contributor. Experience in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a closely related discipline. In progress Bachelors degree or higher. Strong command of circuit analysis and design trade-offs, and the ability to defend component-level and system-level decisions. Fluency in the tools of the field: circuit simulation (SPICE and similar), schematic capture and PCB tools, lab instruments, and MATLAB or Python for engineering analysis. Strong written communication and the ability to articulate why an answer is wrong, not only that it is. General familiarity with AI/LLM tools (user-level is fine), or the ability to pick them up quickly. Real weekly capacity: the project prioritizes 30-40 hrs/week; part-time is considered.
