McCorquodale Transfer is looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead its West Palm Beach warehouse operations.

SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, inventory control, storage, project staging, deliveries, and team supervision. This position ensures that furniture, fixtures, décor, and other design materials are handled, documented, stored, and prepared according to company standards. The Warehouse Manager must maintain an organized, safe, and efficient warehouse while providing dependable service to clients, designers, and internal teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Oversee all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inspection, storage, inventory control, project staging, and outbound shipments.
- Lead, supervise, schedule, and support warehouse associates to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on time.
- Train warehouse employees on company procedures, safe handling practices, equipment operation, inventory processes, and service expectations.
- Assign daily work and monitor productivity, attendance, quality, and overall employee performance.
- Participate in interviewing, onboarding, coaching, performance evaluations, corrective action, and other employee-related matters in coordination with Human Resources and senior management.
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming furniture, fixtures, décor, and design materials.
- Ensure incoming merchandise is checked against shipping documents for accuracy, quality, and visible damage.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all items are properly labeled, photographed, tracked, and stored.
- Coordinate with management, project teams, and delivery crews to pull, pack, and stage items for scheduled deliveries and installations.
- Develop and maintain efficient warehouse layouts and storage systems to maximize space, accessibility, and workflow.
- Monitor project schedules and warehouse priorities to ensure materials are prepared by required deadlines.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, missing items, damages, and receiving issues.
- Document damaged merchandise and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate management team.
- Oversee furniture assembly, minor repairs, touch-ups, and quality inspections as needed.
- Ensure proper handling techniques are used to protect high-value, fragile, and specialty items.
- Maintain a clean, secure, and organized warehouse that complies with company policies and applicable safety standards.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and immediately address unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or improper work practices.
- Ensure warehouse equipment is properly maintained and operated only by trained or certified employees.
- Monitor warehouse supplies, equipment, and operational needs and coordinate purchases or repairs with management.
- Support deliveries and installations as needed, including occasional on-site assistance.
- Maintain professional communication with clients, designers, vendors, employees, and management.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and a high level of care for client property.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Education and/or Experience: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, operations, business, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of three years of warehouse, inventory, logistics, moving, receiving, or distribution experience is required.
- Previous experience supervising or managing warehouse employees is required.
- Experience working with furniture, interior design materials, receiving and delivery services, or high-value merchandise is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead employees, assign work, manage priorities, and hold team members accountable.
- Strong working knowledge of receiving, inventory control, storage, project staging, and warehouse safety practices.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret shipping documents, inventory records, policies, procedures, and other business documents. Ability to respond professionally to questions or concerns from management, employees, clients, designers, and vendors. Must communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal communication.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in email, word processing, spreadsheets, inventory databases, and other standard business software. Experience operating an ERP, warehouse management, or inventory-tracking system is required. Must be able to resolve minor technology issues or coordinate with IT support when necessary.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Forklift certification is preferred, or the ability to obtain certification after hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms. The individual is frequently required to climb, balance, talk, and hear and may occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The individual must be able to walk forward, backward, and side to side while assisting with the movement of furniture and other items.

Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The individual must be able to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and assist with moving items weighing up to 100 pounds or more using appropriate equipment and team-lifting procedures. The individual must also be able to operate warehouse equipment, transport tools and supplies, identify visible damage or mechanical issues, and accurately exchange information with others.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to indoor and outdoor temperatures, wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and cleaning or maintenance chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate but may occasionally be loud. This position requires regular work inside an active warehouse and may require occasional assistance at client locations, delivery sites, or installation projects.
