Qualifications
JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Assistant ensures that the non-direct patient care aspects of PACE clinical unit run smoothly. Main duties include clerical and secretarial tasks such as answering phones, scheduling internal and external appointments, sending faxes, making copies, ordering and organizing supplies and filing. Other duties include scheduling tests and procedures for patients and keeping the medical chart organized.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets visitors to department and handles vendors.
- Answers telephone in department and takes accurate messages.
- Demonstrates a willingness to act as a representative of PACE. Participates in and encourages actions that promote good public relations with participants, families, visitors, and the community.
- Works well with central supply. Fills out computer requests and keeps a file on pending work requests. Checks file to ensure work is being done and kept current.
- Sends work order request to Plant Operations when equipment is not working properly.
- Types, files, makes copies, and handles mail distribution.
- Shows the ability to handle computer projects, file all patient information properly, and make copies as needed.
- Attends department meetings.
- Handles all aspects of departmental changes.
- Any and all other duties and responsibilities assigned.
EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Keyboarding/dexterity: frequently; activity exists up to 75% of the time
- Communication: ability to read, speak, and hear in English.
- Strength: sedentary position (exerting up to 10lbs of force occasionally)
- Standing/Walking: Occasionally; activity exists up to 25% of the time
