POSITION OVERVIEW
At BDC, the only bank dedicated exclusively to Canadian entrepreneurs, you will support Agile teams in delivering value that contributes directly to the success of Canadian businesses. As a Scrum Master, you will coach two teams on Agile principles, foster collaboration and continuous improvement, and help create an environment where teams can be effective, autonomous, and focused on outcomes. CHALLENGES TO BE MET
- Serve as Scrum Master for two Agile teams, providing coaching on Agile mindset, Scrum and Kanban practices, self-organization, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Help teams remain focused on meeting commitments and delivering value at the expected level of quality.
- Identify, address, and remove impediments in a timely manner to minimize impact on delivery commitments.
- Support teams in defining, adopting, and adhering to their ways of working.
- Facilitate key Agile ceremonies, including: Daily Scrum
- Iteration/Sprint Planning
- Iteration/Sprint Review
- Retrospective
- Coach and support the Product Owner in maintaining a healthy product backlog and effectively performing the Product Owner role.
- Coordinate with other Scrum Masters, Delivery Leads, and stakeholders to manage cross-team dependencies and alignment.
- Coach teams on estimation, planning practices, systems thinking, and business awareness.
- Track and report team metrics and delivery progress against milestones.
- Actively participate in BDC’s Agile Chapter and product family activities.
- Support the broader organization in the adoption and evolution of Agile principles and practices.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an Agile coaching role, such as: Scrum Master or Agile Coach
- Experience coaching teams across multiple initiatives while applying and reinforcing Agile best practices.
- Hands-on experience working with teams using: Scrum or Kanban
- Experience in a scaled Agile environment, such as: SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
- Nexus
- LeSS (Large-Scale Scrum)
- Experience delivering features across multiple teams with significant interdependencies.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Technology (IT).
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a large enterprise environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Scrum Master certification or Kanban certification, including one of the following: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
- Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
- SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)
- Team Kanban Practitioner (TKP)
- Kanban Management Professional (KMP)
- Professional Scrum with Kanban (PSK)
- Bilingualism (English and French) required.

- Knowledge of Agile and Lean frameworks and practices, including: Kanban

Preferred qualifications
- Experience working in the banking or financial services industry.
- Disciplined Agile certification, including: Certified Disciplined Agilist (CDA)
- Disciplined Agile Senior Scrum Master (DASSM)
- Disciplined Agile Lean Scrum Master (DALSM)
- Experience using Azure DevOps.
