About this role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee commercial interior construction projects from contract award through final closeout. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, and related interior finish projects.

This role is responsible for project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, cost control, field coordination, subcontractor management, and client relationships. The successful candidate will lead project execution, maintain profitability, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceiling, flooring, and interior finish projects from startup through closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, manpower forecasts, and execution strategies.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and schedules to verify requirements and identify potential issues.
- Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, general contractors, and clients.
- Monitor budgets, job costs, labor productivity, forecasts, billing, change orders, and overall project profitability.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, pay applications, change orders, and other project documentation.
- Coordinate material and equipment procurement, including long-lead items and delivery schedules.
- Monitor labor requirements and field productivity to maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Conduct jobsite visits to assess safety, quality, installation progress, productivity, and schedule performance.
- Lead project meetings and communicate updates to clients, general contractors, field leadership, and internal teams.
- Identify cost, schedule, scope, procurement, and field risks and implement proactive solutions.
- Review contract requirements and project scopes to identify change-order opportunities and potential cost exposures.
- Ensure field crews have the drawings, materials, information, and resources needed for efficient installation.
- Coordinate with estimating and operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to project execution.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier performance and resolve issues affecting project cost, quality, or schedule.
- Oversee punch lists, warranty requirements, project turnover, final documentation, and closeout.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and project partners.

Requirements

- 3+ years of project management experience in commercial interior construction.
- Required: Direct experience managing commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, or related interior finish projects.
- Strong understanding of specialty interior construction methods, materials, sequencing, and field operations.
- Proven ability to manage commercial construction projects from startup through final closeout.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, procurement, billing, labor productivity, change orders, and cost control.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and project schedules.
- Experience coordinating superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, suppliers, field personnel, general contractors, and clients.
- Strong understanding of project financials and factors affecting profitability.
- Ability to identify scope gaps, cost exposures, scheduling conflicts, and change-order opportunities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
