The Lead, Portfolio Management – Quality Engineering Business Operations plays a critical role in enabling the operational health, planning and financial discipline, and strategic execution of the Enterprise Software Quality Engineering Center of Excellence (COE). This role supports portfolio operations across financial management, vendor governance, resource and capacity planning, operational intake, executive reporting, communications, associate engagement, and transformation coordination.

The Lead serves as a key operational partner to Quality Engineering leadership and works across Enterprise Technology, Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, Enterprise Portfolio Management, and segment teams to improve transparency, execution discipline, and organizational effectiveness in this fast paced evolving environment. This role also helps drive the onboarding and integration of resources transitioning from business segments into the Quality Engineering COEs, ensuring alignment to the organizational operating model, planning processes, and enterprise priorities.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in portfolio management, financial governance, business operations, and executive communications, with a proven ability to drive strategic initiatives, influence decision-making, successfully execute priorities across a complex, highly matrixed organization and deliver results across diverse stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities :

Agile Portfolio Management & Governance

- Lead Agile portfolio operations for the Enterprise Software Quality Engineering COE, aligning strategic priorities, investments, demand, capacity, and delivery outcomes.
- Coordinate portfolio operating rhythms including PI Planning, Portfolio Reviews, ART Syncs, leadership reviews, governance forums, and planning cycles.
- Partner with Release Train Engineers, Product Managers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to improve delivery predictability, dependency management, risk mitigation, and execution effectiveness.
- Facilitate portfolio governance processes to align initiatives, funding, capacity, and strategic commitments.
- Track and manage cross-team dependencies, risks, impediments, and escalations affecting portfolio delivery.
- Ensure Agile, SAFe, and Lean Portfolio Management practices align with enterprise standards and governance frameworks.
- Support OKR tracking, value realization, and continuous improvement initiatives across the portfolio.

Transformation, Strategy & Innovation Enablement

- Support execution of enterprise quality transformation initiatives and strategic operational priorities.
- Experiencing with leverage AI tools and technologies to improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and reporting across strategic programs.
- Track organizational goals, key initiatives, and action plans while driving accountability for outcomes.
- Support activities associated with innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement programs, including the Quality Engineering Innovation Lab.
- Measure and communicate program value, organizational impact, and business outcomes.

Financial Management, Capacity Planning & Resource Operations

- Support annual planning, forecasting, budgeting, and financial governance activities across the Quality Engineering organization.
- Assist with workforce planning, resource forecasting, capacity management, and allocation tracking across associates, contractors, and supplier partners.
- Monitor staffing trends, onboarding progress, skill gaps, succession risks, and resource constraints.
- Support planning and coordination of resources transitioning from segment organizations into Quality Engineering COEs.
- Provide visibility into resource supply, demand, utilization, and workforce optimization opportunities.

Vendor Governance & Strategic Partner Management

- Support governance activities for strategic vendors, managed service providers, and supplier partners.
- Coordinate vendor performance reviews, operational metrics, service-level tracking, and action plans.
- Partner with Procurement, Finance, Legal, and QE leadership on contract planning, renewals, and supplier management activities.
- Support onboarding, compliance, operational alignment, and performance management processes for external partners.

Communications, Change Management & Associate Engagement

- Support communication strategies across the Quality Engineering organization, including leadership updates, town halls, All Hands meetings, and organizational announcements.
- Coordinate change management and organizational readiness activities associated with transformation initiatives.
- Partner with HR and leadership teams to support engagement, onboarding communications, culture initiatives, and associate experience programs.
- Develop communication materials that improve transparency, alignment, and understanding of organizational priorities.

Leadership & Operational Excellence

- Serve as a trusted operational partner to Quality Engineering leadership.
- Drive accountability for operational, financial, and strategic commitments through proactive tracking and follow-up.
- Build strong relationships across Enterprise Technology, Finance, HR, Procurement, Portfolio Management, and business stakeholders.
- Lead through influence in a highly matrixed environment.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Management, Finance, Business or Information Technology, or related field.

- 5+ years of experience in portfolio management, technology business operations, program management, strategic planning, workforce planning, or related disciplines.

- 3+ years of experience supporting technology organizations, business operations teams, portfolio functions, or transformation initiatives.

- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial tracking, or resource planning processes.

- Experience developing reports, dashboards, scorecards, and executive presentation materials.

- Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders in a matrixed environment.

- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level communication.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy, professionalism, and responsiveness.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting Quality Engineering, Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Enterprise Architecture, or Technology Operations organizations.

- Experience in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or another highly regulated industry.

- Experience with vendor management, managed service operations, or strategic partner governance.

- Experience with workforce onboarding, organizational transition planning, or change management initiatives.

- Familiarity with Agile, Lean Portfolio Management, SAFe, DevOps, CI/CD, and product operating models.

- Experience using portfolio, reporting, and work management tools such as Azure DevOps, dashboards/reporting platforms, and collaboration tools.

- PMP, SAFe, Lean, or related certification.

- Experience supporting executive-level strategic initiatives and business operations for large enterprise teams.

Success Measures

- Success in this role will be demonstrated through:

- Effective coordination of portfolio operations and business rhythms for the Quality Engineering COE.

- Improved transparency into demand, capacity, financial performance, and organizational priorities.

- Accurate and actionable reporting, dashboards, and executive scorecards.

- Strong operational support for budgeting, workforce planning, and vendor governance activities.

- Successful coordination of associate onboarding and integration from segment teams into the COEs.

- Effective execution support for transformation initiatives, organizational goals, and innovation efforts.

- Improved organizational communication, engagement, and alignment across the Quality Engineering organization.

- Strong stakeholder satisfaction and reliable delivery of operational commitments.

Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$117,600 - $161,700 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
