Humana’s Human Resources organization is seeking an experienced Senior Administrative Assistant to provide high-level administrative support to two senior-level HR executives, with additional ad hoc calendaring support for Vice Presidents as business needs arise.

As the Senior Administrative Assistant, you will serve as a trusted administrative partner within HR, managing complex calendars, coordinating meetings and travel, processing expenses, preparing meeting materials, and supporting the day-to-day administrative needs of senior executives. This role requires sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to anticipate needs in a fast-paced, highly confidential executive environment.

Key Role Functions

- Manage complex and frequently changing calendars for two senior-level HR executives, exercising sound judgment to prioritize meetings, resolve conflicts, and protect executive time.
- Provide ad hoc calendaring support to additional HR leaders, including Vice Presidents, based on business needs and capacity.
- Coordinate internal and external meetings, including scheduling, logistics, conference rooms, virtual access, meeting materials, catering, and other onsite and offsite requirements.
- Manage executive travel arrangements, including air, hotel, ground transportation, itineraries, and changes before or during travel.
- Prepare and process expense reports accurately and promptly, including appropriate documentation and follow-up.
- Partner closely with other Executive and Administrative Assistants across HR and the broader organization to coordinate leadership schedules, meetings, events, and travel.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, business partners, vendors, and other key contacts.
- Assist HR leaders with presentations, meeting agendas, reports, correspondence, and other meeting materials as needed.
- Anticipate executive needs, proactively identify scheduling or logistical issues, and independently determine appropriate next steps.
- Handle sensitive employee, leadership, and business information with a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
- Support HR leadership meetings, team events, and other organizational activities as needed.
- Perform additional administrative responsibilities and special projects based on evolving business needs.

The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, highly organized, and able to anticipate needs before they arise.

This role requires someone who can work independently, exercise sound judgment, navigate ambiguity, remain calm under pressure, and quickly adjust priorities. Strong relationship-building skills are essential, as this position works closely with senior HR leaders, their teams, administrative partners, and stakeholders across Humana.

Required Qualifications

- 3+ years of administrative experience supporting senior-level executives in a large, complex organization.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex executive calendars, scheduling, travel arrangements, meeting logistics, and expense processing.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple executives and competing priorities with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong judgment and demonstrated ability to independently make decisions and appropriately escalate issues.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of an organization.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive HR and executive information.
- Ability to work onsite at Humana’s Washington, DC-area office.

Preferred Qualifications

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
- Previous experience supporting Human Resources executives or working within an HR organization.
- Experience supporting multiple executives simultaneously.
- Experience with research, proofreading, editing, and preparation of executive-level materials.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$58,400 - $79,800 per year
