MIG Welder
Location: Forest Park, Georgia
PrideStaff Atlanta South is seeking an experienced, dependable, and safety-conscious MIG Welder for an established manufacturing company.
The MIG Welder will be responsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling metal components according to production specifications and quality standards. This hands-on position requires strong welding skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
All candidates must successfully pass a hands-on MIG welding test to be considered for employment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding on metal components and assemblies according to blueprints, work orders, and production specifications.
Set up, adjust, and operate MIG welding equipment safely and efficiently.
Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, measurements, and welding symbols.
Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, cutting, and positioning materials before welding.
Measure, align, fit, and assemble metal components to ensure accurate weld placement.
Produce strong, consistent, high-quality welds that meet company specifications.
Inspect completed welds for defects, accuracy, and structural integrity.
Identify and correct welding defects, including porosity, undercutting, and incomplete fusion.
Operate grinders, cutting tools, and other fabrication equipment.
Maintain welding equipment, tools, and workstations.
Meet established production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Follow all company safety procedures and required PPE guidelines.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Collaborate with fabrication, production, and warehouse personnel.
Remain flexible and willing to assist in other departments, including fabrication, assembly, production, and material handling.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Previous hands-on MIG welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment.
Must successfully pass a hands-on MIG welding test.
Ability to set up and operate MIG welding equipment independently.
Ability to produce clean, consistent, and structurally sound welds.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, measurements, and fabrication drawings.
Knowledge of proper welding techniques, equipment settings, and safety practices.
Experience using grinders, cutting tools, and measuring equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Basic math and measurement skills.
Dependable attendance, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to assist in other production departments as needed.
Ability to stand, bend, reach, lift, and perform physical duties throughout the shift.

Candidates must demonstrate their MIG welding abilities through a practical, hands-on welding test as part of the hiring process.
The assessment may evaluate:
Proper setup and operation of MIG welding equipment
Welding technique and consistency
Weld appearance, penetration, and overall quality
Ability to follow instructions and welding specifications
Safe handling of welding equipment and materials
Ability to complete assigned welding tasks accurately and efficiently
Successful completion of the welding test is required for employment consideration.
Work Environment
This position operates in an active manufacturing and metal fabrication facility. Employees must be comfortable working around welding equipment, industrial machinery, and metal materials.
Proper PPE, including welding helmets, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing, is required.
Employees must be willing to assist in other departments when production needs require additional support.
