Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, trustworthy, and proactive Payroll & HR Specialist to join our team. In this entry-level hybrid role, you will support both our payroll operations and general HR administration. You will serve as a primary contact for employee inquiries, handle daily timekeeping and weekly payroll processing, and help onboard new team members into our fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration

Collect, review, and verify weekly timecards and electronic clock-ins for hourly shop employees and salaried staff.

Calculate standard working hours, overtime, shift differentials, and prevailing rates where applicable.

Process weekly/bi-weekly payroll through payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, or QuickBooks) with high accuracy.

Manage employee withholdings, voluntary deductions, direct deposit setups, and wage garnishments.

Track and update employee PTO, sick leave balances, and attendance logs.

Human Resources & Onboarding

Facilitate new hire orientation, onboarding documentation, and Form I-9 verification.

Maintain digital and physical personnel records, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company guidelines.

Assist employees with benefits enrollment (health, dental, 401k) and address routine HR-related inquiries.

Track required trade certifications, safety training records, and OSHA compliance documentation.

Support shop floor management with general administrative tasks and basic employee relations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Associate’s degree or High School Diploma with relevant administrative experience (Bachelor's in HR, Business, or Accounting preferred).

Experience: 1–3
years of experience in HR, payroll, or office administration (experience in manufacturing or industrial settings is a strong plus).

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas) and familiarity with payroll/HRIS platforms.
