About this role

As a growing technology team at Dexters, we are seeking enthusiastic, skilled Product Engineers to join a new engineering team. The team will be an ambitious group of builders shaping the prop-tech industry with AI, both as engineers and by embedding it in the products you deliver. In the role, you will own meaningful problems end-to-end, liaising with internal customers, making strategic decisions and driving internal change.

About You

- You’re a product-minded engineer who enjoys taking ideas from conception through to delivery.
- You’re a strong problem-solver, motivated by outcomes and real business impact rather than simply shipping code.
- You’re comfortable working across the stack, from front-end through to back-end services and data. Our primary stack is Go, PHP and JavaScript, but you’re comfortable learning and working with a broad range of technologies.
- You can work directly with stakeholders across the business, understand their problems and translate them into effective product solutions. You’ll be based in or near London, so you can work closely with teams in person when needed.
- You know how to design scalable systems, make pragmatic technical trade-offs and clearly explain your reasoning.
- You’re comfortable taking ownership, working with ambiguity and driving work forward.

Key Responsibilities

- Own features and products from early discovery through design, build, launch and iteration.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand problems, challenge assumptions and shape the right solution.
- Build high-quality product experiences across the front end and backend.
- Design scalable, maintainable systems and make pragmatic technical trade-offs where needed.
- Use data, feedback and business outcomes to evaluate whether what we build is working.
- Improve existing products and workflows, not just build new features.
- Contribute to technical direction, engineering standards and architectural decisions.
- Take ownership of delivery, proactively identifying risks, dependencies and opportunities to improve the product.
