About the Internship

We are looking for a Program Intern with strong research and writing skills to support the Climate Resilience Practice team with desk-based and occasional field research across ongoing climate resilience and adaptation programs in Tamil Nadu. The internship offers hands-on experience in contributing to a strong strategic communications pipeline and develop actionable research for climate resilience action plans at different scales. The intern will provide support in program communications, developing pipelines from concept to outreach, and engage in in-depth interactions with research teams within WRI India. The intern will contribute to research, data collection, documentation, outreach, and coordination efforts that support’s WRI India’s research, knowledge management, and advisory activities.

In case the internship period involves developing an internship report in any form to be submitted to the parent institution, the candidates should have a research topic aligned with the primary area of engagement mentioned above.

What you will do:

- Support in background literature review and desk research and secondary data collection
- Assist in collecting and documenting field-level qualitative and quantitative data for agriculture and allied sectors, water resources, livelihoods, natural resources, and rural development, infrastructure, etc.
- Support literature review, secondary data collection, and policy research related to climate resilience and rural development.
- Compile, clean, and organize field data for analysis including data cleaning, visualization and development of collaterals as required.
- Contribute to report writing, documentation, briefs, presentation materials for internal and external dissemination.
- Coordinate with project team members to ensure timely and high-quality completion of activities.

- Assist in organizing and documenting communications strategies and outputs for strengthening outreach efforts and research outputs.

- Helping develop and post social media posts and strategise them to support the team on a need basis

What you will need:

- Pursuing or recently completed a Undergraduate/Master's degree.Good understanding of the climate change adaptation and resilience building ecosystem in India.
- Strong written and communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to rural areas.
- Basic skills in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and MS Teams.
- Familiarity with digital data collection tools will be an added advantage.

Location : Bangalore, Karnataka
Stipend: INR 25,000 per month

Duration : 3 months
