This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior clinician to step into the Team Manager role within the CASEA program, part of Monash Health’s Infant, Child and Youth Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Service.

Based at the Atherton Hub in Oakleigh, this is a permanent part-time position (0.8 EFT) where you’ll have the opportunity to lead a skilled multidisciplinary team and help shape a service that supports children, families and the communities around them. CASEA works at the intersection of mental health and education, partnering with schools and education services to identify concerns early, strengthen the supports around children and families, and improve access to appropriate mental health care.

As Team Manager, you’ll provide both clinical and operational leadership, creating an environment where clinicians feel supported to do their best work. You’ll provide supervision, mentoring and clinical guidance, foster a collaborative and cohesive team culture, and support the continued development and delivery of evidence-based care.

A key part of this role is building strong partnerships across three different service systems – Monash Health’s Infant, Child and Youth Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Service, the Department of Education and Catholic education. You’ll help bring these systems together around a shared purpose: supporting children earlier and strengthening the people and environments around them.

Your role will include:

- leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team of experienced mental health clinicians

- providing clinical leadership, supervision, mentoring and opportunities for professional growth

- fostering a positive, collaborative and connected team culture

- working in partnership with education services to support children, parents and school communities

- overseeing assessment, group interventions and therapeutic support for children and families

- strengthening relationships between mental health, education and community services

- supporting consultation, education and training for education staff

- contributing to evidence-based practice, service development, research and evaluation

- ensuring high-quality service delivery and achievement of clinical and operational outcomes.

This is an opportunity to combine your clinical expertise, leadership and passion for early intervention in a role where your impact extends beyond an individual child or family – to the clinicians you lead, the schools you partner with and the broader systems supporting children’s mental health.

This opportunity is open to suitably qualified clinicians from the following disciplines:

- Psychologist Grade 4

- Occupational Therapist Grade 5

- Social Worker Grade 5

- Speech Pathologist Grade 5

- Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 5.

About the Department/Program

Designed as an early intervention program, the CASEA program is conducted in school settings with children identified as being at risk of developing serious behaviour problems including Conduct Disorder. The focus of the program is to up skill teachers in child and parenting group programs that they will deliver in partnership with CASEA staff.

About You

You’re an experienced mental health clinician and leader who is passionate about creating the conditions for children, families and clinicians to thrive.

You bring strong clinical expertise in infant, child and youth mental health, alongside the confidence to lead, support and develop a multidisciplinary team. You understand that great leadership is not just about overseeing service delivery – it’s about building a positive team culture, supporting clinicians through complexity and creating an environment where people feel valued, connected and confident in the work they do.

You’ll bring:

- Demonstrated leadership experience within mental health or a related clinical setting

- Strong knowledge of infant, child and youth mental health, including assessment, risk and evidence-based practice

- The ability to mentor, supervise and support clinicians to grow their capability and confidence

- A collaborative leadership style and the ability to bring people together around shared goals

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across health, education and community services

- Confidence navigating complex clinical, operational and stakeholder matters

- A commitment to continuous improvement, reflective practice and high-quality care.

You’ll be someone who values early intervention and working beyond traditional service boundaries, recognising the important role families, schools and communities play in supporting a child’s mental health and wellbeing. Most importantly, you’ll be a leader who wants to make a difference – for the children and families CASEA supports, and for the clinicians you lead.
