About this role

Microgravity is undoubtedly the most significant stress factor experienced by living organisms during spaceflight. Understanding cellular responses to altered gravity at the molecular level is critical for expanding our knowledge of life in space. The intern is expected to conduct research on the biological effects of microgravity using the microgravity simulation devices that simulate zero-g and partial-g conditions equivalent to those of the ISS, the Moon, and Mars. In particular, this intern opportunity will focus on database testing for life sciences research and fluid dynamics modeling (ANSYS) using ground microgravity simulation devices in comparison with space flight studies. Computer/Software Skills - Microsoft Office: Word and Excel. Knowledge of ANSYS modeling & simulation software is highly desirable. Scientific and Technical Skills Previous experience on database development/testing and strong computer skills are required. Experience on life sciences research, especially plant research, is a plus.
