About this role
Who We Are
We don’t just develop embedded software — we engineer intelligence into products. The Embedded Competence Center at NTT DATA Romania brings together experts in embedded systems, firmware development, and hardware–software integration, delivering robust and high-performance solutions for complex, safety-critical environments. With strong expertise in C/C++, AUTOSAR, real-time operating systems, and communication protocols, we design scalable embedded architectures, integrate software seamlessly with hardware, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Across the industries we support — from Automotive and Industrial Automation to Smart Devices and IoT — we transform reliable embedded technology into a foundation for innovative, dependable products.
We are looking for an experienced AUTOSAR Software Architect to support the architecture and development of automotive display systems, with a strong focus on Instrument Clusters and Head-Up Displays (HUD). The ideal candidate has previous hands-on experience with cluster/HUD products and a strong understanding of AUTOSAR-based embedded architectures.
What you'll be doing
- Define and maintain the software architecture for Instrument Cluster / HUD ECUs.
- Design and integrate AUTOSAR Classic components and interfaces.
- Define SW component architecture, interfaces, communication concepts, and dependencies between application, middleware, and BSW layers.
- Support AUTOSAR BSW configuration and integration, including communication, diagnostics, memory, OS, and network management.
- Define architecture for communication with vehicle networks: CAN/CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet, SOME/IP, UDS, etc.
- Collaborate with graphics/HMI, application, BSW, system engineering, and hardware teams.
- Analyze system and software requirements and translate them into scalable architectural solutions.
- Support technical decisions regarding performance, startup/boot time, functional safety, cybersecurity, and resource utilization.
- Support integration, debugging, and resolution of complex cross-component issues.
- Participate in architecture reviews and ensure compliance with ASPICE and automotive development processes.
What you'll bring along
- 8+ years of experience in automotive embedded software development, including experience in a Software Architect or Technical Lead role.
- Strong knowledge of AUTOSAR Classic.
- Good understanding of AUTOSAR architecture, RTE, BSW, OS, communication and diagnostic stacks.
- Strong embedded C/C++ knowledge.
- Experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, CAN-FD, Ethernet, SOME/IP and UDS.
- Experience defining software interfaces, component architectures, and ECU-level software concepts.
- Knowledge of ASPICE, requirements engineering, and architecture documentation.
- Experience with tools such as EB tresos, DaVinci Developer/Configurator, CANoe/CANalyzer, Enterprise Architect, DOORS or similar
- Strong experience in embedded software architecture and development.
- Strong system-level debugging and performance analysis skills.
- Experience with Automotive Instrument Cluster, Digital Cockpit, or Infotainment systems is nice to have.
- Green Hills MULTI / INTEGRITY development experience is nice to have.
- Understanding of graphics/display architectures, including interaction between application/HMI software, graphics controllers and AUTOSAR components.
- Experience with multi-core / multi-processor architectures, SoCs and real-time systems.
- Knowledge of Linux and/or QNX in combination with AUTOSAR-based ECUs.
- Experience with Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and Automotive Cybersecurity.
- Experience with platforms from Qualcomm, NVIDIA, Renesas, NXP or similar automotive SoCs.
- Understanding of cluster/HUD-specific topics such as fast boot, tell-tales, vehicle signals, display management, graphics performance and safety-related visualization.
