- Assemble bid submissions with itemized costs, defined scopes, assumptions, exclusions, clarifications, and alternate pricing.
- Recommend cost-saving materials or installation methods that meet project specifications and quality expectations.
- Coordinate with project managers, field teams, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to resolve pricing and scope questions.
- Maintain organized bid records, vendor contacts, historical cost data, and estimating databases.
- Track changes in labor costs, material pricing, subcontractor rates, and industry trends.
- Prepare preliminary budgets, negotiated proposals, change-order pricing, and revised estimates as project requirements evolve.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, conduct site visits, and participate in post-bid reviews.
- Deliver detailed cost breakdowns and documented scope assumptions to project teams during handoff.
- Manage several estimates at once while meeting bid deadlines and maintaining pricing accuracy.
- Refine estimating procedures and cost-tracking methods to improve consistency and efficiency.
