About this role

This hands-on opportunity involves design, manufacture, test, and assembly of cutting-edge propulsion technologies for low-earth and moon-to-mars missions.

The ER64 Propulsion Research and Technology branch is looking for a few candidates to work on emerging technologies for moon, mars, and low-earth missions. Safety is our number one priority. All necessary training will be provided. Explosives or nuclear experience is not required. Vacuum chambers, pressure vessels, and industrial controls are common among most tasks. Projects are varied and could involve a variety of skills including data analysis, modeling, mechanical assembly, and chemical handling. Participation in small thruster test firing or extreme-environment surrogate nuclear component testing is typical. The description above is general, because the actual work performed will vary from day-to-day in a dynamic team environment.

Candidates should possess a general understanding of propulsion and testing and be able to implement fundamental engineering concepts in real world applications. All engineering disciplines are encouraged to apply. The applicant should be adept at hands-on, laboratory and/or mechanical tasks and have a passion for getting dirty from hard work!

Candidates must be an excellent communicator with strong speaking, writing, and presenting skills. Candidate must be a self-starter who takes initiative to complete tasks on time with reasonable supervision. Candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as in small, multi-disciplined teams.

Candidates should be proficient in the MS Office suite including. Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and should be familiar with basic CAD software like Solid Edge, Solid Works, or Pro Engineer.

By far the strongest indicator of success within our organization is the ability to work well with others.
