About this role

Nordic Knots is looking for a mid-level to senior Member of Technical Staff with 5+ years of experience to join our team in Stockholm. This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing interior design company that strives for perfection and is willing to invest in developing great tools that deliver excellent customer experiences.

We are looking for someone who has fully embraced agentic development. You don’t just use AI to write code faster – you design the harnesses, tools and flows that let agents do real work reliably, and you have the engineering judgment to know when the output is right. You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and love solving problems and improving business operations with technical solutions.

The Role

AI has changed how software gets built, and we have changed with it. Our tech team works agentic-first: agents handle much of the implementation, and our engineers spend their time on architecture, context, review and making sure that what ships is fast, correct and maintainable.

You will be an integral part of a team responsible for everything from development and testing to architecture, ensuring that we continue to scale up in the most technically efficient way possible. You will also help shape how the whole company works with AI – from our eCommerce platform to the internal tools and automations used across buying, logistics, finance and customer experience.

You’re both encouraged and expected to take the initiative and solve problems, as you will have the opportunity to influence the way the tech team works. You need an explorative mindset and the ability to pick up new models, tools and techniques as fast as the landscape moves.

What you’ll do

- Build and maintain our eCommerce frontend in Next.js and TypeScript, along with the integrations to Centra, our headless eCommerce platform, and Sanity, our CMS – working agentic-first with Claude Code as your daily driver.
- Design and own our agentic development setup: project context and CLAUDE.md files, custom commands and skills, hooks, subagents, MCP servers and the guardrails that keep agents on track.
- Build AI pipelines and internal agents that streamline processes throughout the organization, connecting models to our business systems through well-designed tools.
- Write the specs, tests and evals that make agent output verifiable, and review AI-generated code for correctness, security and performance before it ships.
- Set up agentic flows in our CI/CD, such as automated code review, test generation and background agents working on well-scoped tasks.
- Be part of optimizing the performance of the application to ensure an exceptional user experience.
- Raise the bar for how the rest of the tech team, and the wider company, works with AI.
- Be part of developing the roadmap to make sure that we stay ahead of technological developments in our market space, aligned with the company’s long-term strategy and vision.

Who you are

- You are a mid-level to senior engineer with 4+ years of experience building production software, ideally high-performing eCommerce applications.
- You work agentic-first by default. Agents are part of how you plan, build, test and review – not an add-on.
- You’ve been working with Claude Code since its research preview in early 2025 and have evolved your workflow alongside it.
- You have hands-on experience setting up harnesses, tools and flows for agents: context engineering, tool and MCP server design, subagent and multi-agent orchestration, evals and human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
- You understand the underlying systems well enough to catch an agent that is confidently wrong, and you hold AI-generated code to the same standard as your own.
- You know how to break a problem down and describe it precisely enough for an agent to act on.
- You are well versed in TypeScript, React, Next.js, RESTful API and GraphQL integrations, and comfortable working directly with LLM APIs.
- You adjust easily and are able to change course as new requirements – and new models – arise.
- You’re curious and enjoy technical discussions, especially about what the latest models can and can’t do.
- You have excellent English communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team. We’re a Swedish company with multinational coworkers.
- (Plus) You’ve shipped AI features that run in production, not just AI-assisted workflows for yourself.
- (Plus) You have a good eye for UX and UI design.
- (Plus) You’re business oriented and understand true customer value.

How to stand out

In your application, tell us about a harness, agent workflow or AI pipeline you’ve built: the problem it solved, how you set it up and what you learned along the way. A link to a repo, a write-up or your own Claude Code setup says more than a list of tools.
