About Our Family

We're a busy, warm household in Northwest D.C. with three kids and a beloved family dog who rotate in and out on a week-on/week-off schedule. Our home has its own rhythm, and Fridays in particular are a pivot point — the transition day when one week ends and another begins. When the kids are here, the energy is full and active; when they're not, there's still plenty to keep things running smoothly for the week ahead.

Working from home while the house is in motion means that we need someone reliable and proactive to keep things humming behind the scenes. We already have some wonderful support in place, including biweekly cleaners and a crew of regular vendors who help keep things maintained. What we're missing is the steady, trusted presence who keeps everything on track and take ownership of what happens in between.

We've had wonderful long-term household support in the past, and we know what a difference the right person makes. We value people who are dependable, thoughtful, and willing to take initiative. The right person will become a trusted part of our household and someone we can rely on to notice what needs to be done and follow through.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

The right person for this role is someone who walks into a home and immediately starts noticing what needs attention — not because you were told to, but because that’s just how you operate. You’re “Type-A” — organized, grounded, and professional, with a natural instinct for creating systems and maintaining them.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is proactive, not reactive, and takes initiative without waiting to be asked. You are ready to tackle a to-do list or a specific project, while also being able to prioritize what makes the household run smoothly on a day-to-day basis — meal prepping, resetting and tidying high traffic areas, staying on top of laundry, and keeping the house stocked with essentials.

You're warm and nurturing by nature, and comfortable being a calm, competent adult presence in a home with active kids. You communicate clearly and efficiently, and you're someone who wants to show up consistently and grow into a trusted, long-term role. You take pride in your work and bring the same level of care to a grocery run as you do to a bigger organizational project. You fully understand what comes with a household management role and can see what needs attention, take ownership of it, and find your rhythm in our home.
