About this role
About SAGE PREP
At SAGE PREP, we believe children are capable of more than the world often expects of them, and that belief begins in our infant rooms. The first year of life is when the foundation for language, trust, and curiosity is built. Our infant teachers create that foundation through warm, attentive care and a language-rich environment where every coo, babble, and first word is met with a response.
Who You Are
You love babies, and families can feel it the moment they walk into your classroom. You are patient, gentle, and deeply attentive, noticing the small cues that tell you an infant is hungry, tired, or ready to explore. You take safety seriously in every detail, from safe sleep practices to bottle handling. You stay calm and organized in a room that rarely slows down, and you communicate with families in a way that helps them feel confident leaving their child in your care.
What You’ll Do
Nurturing Care
• Provide responsive, loving care that builds secure attachments with each infant
• Follow each infant’s individual feeding, sleeping, and diapering schedule
• Prepare and serve bottles and age-appropriate foods according to family instructions, CACFP guidelines, and safe handling procedures, including proper labeling and storage of breast milk and formula
Safety and Supervision
• Follow safe sleep practices at all times: infants placed on their backs to sleep, in an approved crib, with nothing else in the crib
• Complete and document regular sleep checks
• Provide active supervision and maintain proper ratios at all times
• Follow all health, sanitation, and diapering procedures to prevent the spread of illness
• Respond to emergencies according to SAGE PREP policies and procedures

• Plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities that support motor, sensory, language, and social-emotional growth
• Encourage tummy time, exploration, and early milestones
• Observe and document each infant’s development and share observations with leadership
