About this role
Job Title: Electrical Component Engineer Job Description The Electrical Component Engineer will collaborate closely with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to manage electrical component projects and ensure technical deliverables are completed on time and to specification. This role focuses on interpreting electrical schematics and specifications, coordinating development and validation activities, resolving technical issues, and communicating project status across engineering, quality, purchasing, manufacturing, and external partners. The position emphasizes technical project execution rather than hands-on electrical design and offers a clear path from an entry-level role to a management-level position. Responsibilities
- Review and interpret electrical schematics, circuit designs, specifications, and component requirements to support project planning and execution.
- Coordinate electrical component development activities with engineering, quality, purchasing, manufacturing, customers, and suppliers.
- Manage multiple electrical component projects simultaneously, driving tasks to completion and tracking timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Lead and support validation and testing activities for electrical components, working closely with test lab personnel to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to electrical components, circuits, and system integration, and drive effective resolutions with cross-functional teams.
- Communicate project status, risks, and technical findings clearly and professionally to internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
- Collaborate with suppliers on component specifications, quality concerns, and technical improvements, maintaining strong supplier-facing relationships.
- Apply knowledge of electrical components such as BLDC motors, sensors, actuators, harnesses, connectors, control modules, and PCBs to support product and system performance.
- Support supply chain considerations for electrical components, including availability, quality, and manufacturability, in coordination with purchasing and manufacturing teams.
- Contribute to the use of design and risk analysis tools such as DFMEA within automotive and HVAC-related applications, ensuring robust component performance and reliability.
Essential Skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics accurately.
- Strong understanding of electrical circuits and their operation.
- Solid customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and suppliers.
- Exposure to Altium or similar electronic design tools.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and drive tasks to completion.
- Strong understanding of electrical components including BLDC motors, sensors, actuators, harnesses, connectors, control modules, and PCBs.
- Experience in electrical engineering with strong knowledge of circuits, schematics, specifications, and electrical components.
- Strong project management skills focused on technical execution.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and supplier-facing interactions.
- Ability to work within supply chain, automotive, and HVAC-related environments and apply DFMEA principles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Degree or formal education in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Experience or familiarity with automotive and HVAC applications involving electrical components.
- Experience collaborating with suppliers on technical requirements and quality topics.
- Comfort working in roles that emphasize technical project execution more than detailed electrical design.
- Interest in career growth, with motivation to progress from an entry-level engineering role toward management responsibilities.
Work Environment The role is based primarily in an office environment, providing regular interaction with engineering, quality, purchasing, and manufacturing teams. The Electrical Component Engineer will also spend time in test lab settings to support validation, troubleshooting, and technical investigations of electrical components and systems. The position involves working with standard office and engineering tools, as well as test equipment in the lab, within a professional and collaborative atmosphere that supports development and progression into leadership roles.
