Interim Controller – SaaS
Location: Hybrid – Ballston, VA
Type: Contract, 3–6 months
Pay: $80–$100/hour
Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to support a global SaaS organization during a period of transition. This consultant will provide hands-on accounting leadership, oversee the close and financial reporting process, and support an organization operating within a public-company reporting environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong NetSuite expertise, ASC 606 subscription revenue recognition experience, and public-company accounting/reporting experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close and financial reporting activities
- Oversee accounting for a SaaS/subscription-based business
- Support ASC 606 revenue recognition, including deferred revenue and related accounting
- Provide accounting and reporting support within a public-company environment
- Support ongoing NetSuite conversion and optimization activities
- Provide technical accounting guidance across the organization
- Support US GAAP and IFRS reporting requirements
- Assist with year-end audit activities
- Lead a geographically distributed accounting team
Qualifications
- Strong NetSuite experience required; implementation/conversion experience will be helpful
- Direct SaaS/subscription revenue recognition and ASC 606 experience
- Public-company accounting and reporting experience
- Strong month-end close and financial reporting background
- Strong accounting and technical accounting knowledge
- US GAAP experience; IFRS knowledge helpful
- Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, or comparable accounting leadership experience preferred
