Senior Credit Rating Analyst | German-speaking | Madrid

Bring your judgement to the companies behind Europe’s economy.At Ethikos, we are looking for a Senior Credit Rating Analyst with strong German and English skills for a specialist European rating agency based in Madrid. You will combine rigorous financial analysis with an understanding of how businesses operate, focusing on European SMEs and mid-caps.This is a role for someone who enjoys forming an independent, well-supported view of a company, explaining the reasoning behind it and contributing to rating decisions. Alongside your analytical work, you will help improve the tools and processes the team uses.What you will doPrepare credit rating reports and solvency analyses, combining financial and qualitative assessment.Monitor rated companies and assess changes in their credit profile.Participate in the Rating Committee.Contribute to the development and improvement of analytical tools and processes.What you bringAround eight years of relevant company-analysis experience, or around six years complemented by a relevant master’s degree or CFA qualification.Experience analysing European companies, particularly SMEs and mid-caps, with a strong focus on Eastern European markets.A degree in Business Administration, Economics or an equivalent qualification.English at C1 level or above and German at full professional or bilingual proficiency.Strong technical and qualitative analytical judgement, initiative and a proactive approach.Knowledge of an Eastern European language would be an advantage. Daily attendance at the Madrid office is required during the first six months.
