CDL-A Local Live Haul Truck Driver – Huron, SD
Pay Details & Schedule
- Average Annual Gross: $85,500–$90,000
- Mileage Pay: $0.65 CPM
- Stop Pay: $44 per stop
- Detention Pay: $15/hour
- Miscellaneous Work: $15/hour
- Safety Training: $20/hour
- Holiday Pay: $200/day, available immediately
- Bonus: $5,000
- Schedule: Sunday–Thursday
- Shift: Turkey pickups between 4 PM and 4 AM
- Daily Routes: Approximately 10–12 hours
- Home Time: Home daily
- PTO: Accrues immediately at 1.5 hours per week, increasing with service anniversaries.
- Holidays: Christmas off. Thanksgiving time off is not guaranteed. Drivers should expect to work most holidays that fall within their regular schedule.
Job Details
- Starting Location: Huron, SD
- Operate within approximately a 200-mile radius of Huron.
- Pick up live turkeys from local farms and deliver them to processing plants.
- Multiple trips per day using flatbed trailers.
- No-touch freight; farms and processing plants handle animal loading and unloading.
- Automatic tractors with no slip seating.
- Truck take-home may be permitted with manager approval.
Job Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- At least 3 months of truck driving experience .
- No passengers allowed.
- Must be available for the Sunday–Thursday schedule and holiday work as required.
