Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end process, to include but not limited to calculating accruals, monthly entries, and correcting entries.
- Analyze general ledger to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
- Research issues with purchase orders, three-way match, costs applied to service calls, and percentage of completion compared to job forecast.
- Collaborate to keep internal controls current to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks, including compliance with GAAP.
- Balance bank statements.
- Collect data and documents to answer questions during annual audit and sales tax audit.
- Responsible for keeping information confidential.
- Flexibility to work additional hours, as needed.
- Other functions may be assigned.
Qualifications
Skills Required
- Must be able to multi-task and keep up with deadlines.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools, as well as a strong analytical and problem-solving skillset.
- Understanding and experience with sales and use tax for contractors is a plus.
- Experience in Excel with an emphasis on importing data, using formulas, and formatting.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with vendors, managers, and co-workers.
- Experience with Great Plains and Epicor/Prophet21 is a plus.
- Must have a positive attitude and have the ability to work well in a large team.
Education and/or Experience Required
- 10+ years of accounting experience.
- Bachelors degree with a major in Accounting or Finance a plus.
