About this role
The Racquets Professional is responsible for supporting the Director of Racquets in providing high-quality instruction and programs across all racquet sports (including but not limited to: tennis, padel, croquet, and pétanque courts) offered at the Lyford Cay Club, including tennis and padel. This position focuses on delivering excellent coaching, promoting member engagement, and contributing to the overall success of the racquet sports program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Coaching and Instruction
• Provide individual and group tennis and padel lessons for junior and adult members at all levels.
• Implement training plans and on-court drills designed by the Head Racquets Professional; track player progress and provide feedback.
• Lead clinics, workshops, and junior development sessions as scheduled.
2. Program Support and Events
• Assist with delivery and staffing of clinics, group lessons, leagues, tournaments, round robins, and special events.
• Support logistical setup, on-site coordination, and participant communication for events and competitions.
• Help maintain class and court schedules; communicate schedule changes to members.
3. Member Engagement and Customer Service
• Build positive relationships with members; promote participation in racquets programs.
• Deliver professional, friendly service; respond promptly to member inquiries and requests.
• Encourage a welcoming, safe, and inclusive on-court environment.
4. Facility and Equipment
• Monitor court conditions and basic equipment (nets, balls, court accessories); report maintenance needs to the Racquets Operations and Facilities Manager or Head Racquets Professional.
• Assist with light court preparation and equipment inventory as directed.
5. Administrative Duties
• Maintain accurate lesson records, attendance, and basic program documentation.
• Assist with member billing entries, lesson bookings, and communication as required.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
• Proven experience in a relevant tennis instruction experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, respectful, and well-mannered.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Tennis, padel, and/or other racquets certification required.
