Job Title: Staff Software Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to enforce best coding practices and advocate for continuous improvement. The role involves developing tools and templates for process improvements and scaling the platform to handle 1,000 times the current load while maintaining 100% uptime over the next few years.
Responsibilities
- Enforce best coding practices and advocate for continuous improvement.
- Develop tools and templates for process improvements.
- Scale the platform to handle significantly increased loads while maintaining uptime.
- Implement and demonstrate proficiency in microservices, API, and front-end development.
- Utilize languages such as JavaScript or Golang, with experience in multi-thread concurrent language coding.
Essential Skills
- Over 10 years of full software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience, with at least 3 years at the staff engineer level or higher.
- Mastery of SDLC, SOLID principles, TDD/BDD, and clean code/architecture.
- 5-8+ years of experience with modern technologies like GoLang, GraphQL, gRPC, JavaScript, microservices, and NoSQL.
- 5-8+ years of applying cloud development patterns and best practices.
- 7+ years proficiency in cloud-based architecture and automated release pipelines.
- 5-8+ years of API-first approach expertise with loosely coupled systems and domain-driven design.
- At least 5 years of experience as a full stack developer, with a stronger focus on front-end development.
- Experience in managing and planning technical debt.
- Strong focus on quality code and various testing approaches.
- Expertise in microservices and API development.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Golang is nice to have but Java is required.
- JavaScript is nice to have or must have Golang.
Work Environment
The position requires being in the office 4 days a week with 1 day working from home (WFH). The WFH day is flexible and can be chosen based on office presence and project load. This is a Permanent position based out of Scottsdale, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $165000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. They will be sending that to me on our September 10th meeting.
