Job Purpose

Deliver broad-based engineering support to multiple long-life product business units within the Premier FMCG Group across South Africa. Responsibilities to include project planning, management and handover, as well as tracking and advancing key initiatives in sustainability, continuous improvement and facility standardisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Support facilities with engineering projects across all engineering disciplines
- Determine project scope, project planning (both financial and technical), stakeholder engagement, project management and handover
- Continuous improvement projects and initiatives, gathering data, proposing improvements and project execution
- Review and reporting of sustainability data
- Technical report writing
- Site plan management and version control in AutoCAD
- Driving standardization projects across facilities
- Provide data analysis support to facilities

Experience and Qualifications and Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering BEng (NQF Level 8)
- 2-3 years post graduate experience minimum
- 2-3 years Project management experience
- Experience in FMCG operations beneficial
- Own transport and willing to travel nationally

Skills and Competencies

- Project management experience, MS Project proficiency
- Efficient communication skills – both verbal and written
- Critical thinking and good problem solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously, make decisions, work under pressure and cope with the inherent physical demands of the position
- Have a good grasp on heat and mass transfer and fluid mechanics
- Data gathering and analysis
- Knowledge of renewable and sustainable technology
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Fast learner, efficient in information gathering to support decision making
- Creativity, innovation and strategic thinking skills to proactively seek opportunities of improvement
