Engineering Project Coordinator Job Description The engineering project coordinator supports new product development and launch activities within a manufacturing environment. In this role, you coordinate program activities, maintain project documentation, track launch milestones, and help ensure successful product launches. You work closely with project leaders, engineering teams, quality, production, and customer contacts, gaining exposure to new model development processes, customer-facing operations, and cross-functional program management. - Coordinate new product development and launch activities within a manufacturing environment.
- Partner closely with project leaders, engineering, quality, production, and customer contacts to support program execution.
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including records related to APQP, PPAP, PSW documentation, and product approval processes.
- Track project and launch milestones to support launch readiness and safe launch activities.
- Support program management functions by monitoring project status, scheduling, and risk tracking for multiple customer programs.
- Assist with documentation management, including creation, updating, and distribution of project files and reports.
- Provide administrative support to engineering and program management teams, including meeting coordination and status reporting.
- Support customer communication by preparing and sharing customer status reports and updates on launch activities.
- Coordinate with suppliers to support manufacturing operations, tooling development, and launch-related requirements.
- Assist with BOM generation and BOM management in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
- Support manufacturing operations during new model launches and product introduction activities.
- Use tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Teams, Planner, Notion, and Microsoft Excel to manage schedules, tasks, and project tracking.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics to support engineering and production activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to launch processes, documentation, and manufacturing support.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, production, and customer teams in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Essential Skills
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably within automotive manufacturing.
- Knowledge of new model launches and product launch readiness activities.
- Understanding of APQP and PPAP processes and their role in product approval and launch.
- Ability to manage documentation effectively, including PSW documentation and other launch-related records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for tracking, reporting, and data management.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Skills in project coordination, project tracking, and program support within manufacturing operations.
- Strong customer communication skills for status reporting and coordination with customer contacts.
- Experience with scheduling and risk tracking to support safe launch activities.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, production, and customer teams.

Work Environment The role is based in a climate-controlled office environment with occasional exposure to the production floor. You work in a clean, organized, and well-maintained manufacturing facility that combines desk-based project coordination with hands-on manufacturing support activities. The position involves regular interaction with engineering, quality, production, and customer teams, as well as occasional walking throughout manufacturing operations to support launch activities and project execution. You will operate in a fast-paced environment that supports multiple customer programs and product launches simultaneously, within a team-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement and employee development. This is a Permanent position based out of South Charleston, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58000.00 - $78000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. 401(k) company match up to 4%.
