Senior Finishing Technician
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Hours: First Shift - 5:00am-1:30pm, Second Shift - 1:30pm-10:00pm Pay: DOE

Senior Finishing Technician Job Duties include:
? Perform complex finishing and surface preparation assignments independently, determining appropriate methods, tools, and abrasives based on specifications.
? Use oscillators and sanders to smooth out rough edges and indentations left by welding with little to no supervision.
? Verify that all metal parts for a specific job are welded correctly before beginning work and immediately notify the supervisor of incomplete or poor-quality welds.
? Complete all duties outlined on the job traveler and blueprints, which includes barcoding all jobs for accurate time management and tracking.
? Manually hand sand to match metal grain surfaces and apply specialty skills such as stroke sanding.
? Provide technical guidance and properly train less-experienced finishing technicians to support their professional growth.
? Other duties as assigned
Senior Finishing Technician Preferred Skills include:
? Three to five years of relevant experience functioning as a finishing technician. ? A High School diploma or equivalent education.
? Prior vocational training to supplement basic technical skills.
? Established knowledge of operating oscillators, sanders, and grinders. ? A working knowledge of machine and process set-up within the finishing field.
? Advanced problem-solving abilities that reduce the need for technical troubleshooting to an occasional event.
Senior Finishing Technician Requirements may include:
? Ability to read English and properly utilize theory, formulas, programming, and paperwork maintenance.
? Physical capability to regularly lift 30 to 50 pounds, kneel, and bend into different positions throughout the entire workday.
? Expertise to grind on all alloys—including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum—while safely operating a 7-inch electric power grinder all day. ? Sufficient manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to withstand the constant repetitive motions needed when using hand files and maintaining an eye for detail.
? Flexibility to work in other departments as needed and availability for assigned shifts (First Shift: 5:00 AM–1:30 PM or Second Shift: 1:30 PM–10:00 PM, Monday–Friday).
? Consistent use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while taking safety into consideration in a shop environment with medium noise levels and metal dust particles.
