Estates & Trusts Attorney (Associate)
Overview
A large, sophisticated law firm (100+ attorneys) is conducting a confidential search for an Estates & Trusts Associate Attorney to join its Wills, Trusts & Estates practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on a hybrid basis. The ideal start date is October 5, 2026 (or within the next month or so).
This role offers meaningful client-facing work, close collaboration with partners, and opportunities to grow within a well-resourced private client practice.
Responsibilities
Handle a broad range of matters within wills, trusts, and estates, with an emphasis on estates.
Work directly with partners and other senior attorneys on client matters.
Contribute to practice development, including building and supporting client relationships.
Participate in firm initiatives, including the ability to join firm committees.
Support team development, with opportunities over time to mentor junior associates.
Qualifications
J.D.
Active Pennsylvania bar license in good standing.
3–5 years of relevant experience in wills, trusts, and estates, including estates-focused work.
Compensation
Base salary: $110,000–$120,000
Billable hours: 1,900 target (with a pro-rated schedule in the first year if not a full fiscal year)
Additional compensation:
Competitive objective bonus goals tied to meeting billable and working attorney hours
10% origination bonus for new client business with 85% realization
