Logistics Associate

SUMMARY
Reporting to the Inventory and Logistics Specialist, the Logistics Associate is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation and loading services for delivery of our custom projects and materials. The Logistics Associate also works with coordination of incoming deliveries, and accuracy of incoming product and inventory.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS may include but are not limited to:

- Transporting different materials and finished projects to specified destination.

- Loads and secures trucks to ensure all product will arrive intact at destination.

- Safely utilizes forklift and other DI equipment, which includes following company safety protocol by always wearing safety glasses when in the Production area, wearing steel toed boots and wearing seatbelt while operating the forklift.

- Unloads inbound shipments, confirms accuracy of orders as well as loads and secures outbound shipments as necessary.

- Prepares and maintains shipment paperwork and records.

- Works collaboratively with Inventory & Logistics Specialist to solve inventory gaps or logistics issues

- Ensures facility materials are well-organized and inventory is documented. Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low, and materials need to be ordered.

- Assists the Facility Manager and Inventory and Logistics Specialist with the fleet preventative maintenance schedule and yearly insurance and registrations of vehicles.

- Responsible for check-in and check-out process for DI fleet of vehicles

- Assists Inventory & Logistics Specialist daily and assists Production department as directed.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

- Follows all DI safety policies and safe driving practices at all times

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Ability to multi-task and respond positively to shifting priorities

- Flexibility, willingness, and availability to travel out of town with short notice

- Excellent communication skills

- Computer skills and knowledge including use of email and Microsoft Office products

- Must maintain a consistent and on-time attendance record. Weekend, overtime, and out-of-town travel will be required at times to ensure product is delivered on-time

- Ability to consistently ensure timely pick-up and delivery of shipments

- Keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

- Prior experience in driving or delivery role

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

- 2 years commercial driving experience preferred

- 1 year forklift experience with certification required

- DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate required

- Clean driving record required

- Experience driving large trucks, specifically up to 26 ft. box trucks and large utility trailers

- Class E Missouri drivers license or Class C Kansas drivers license

- The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, or crawl

- The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

- Employee must be able to talk and hear

While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
