Logistics Specialist

About the Role

The LAS Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and supporting domestic and international logistics operations, ensuring the timely, secure, and compliant movement of high-value assets and materials. This role serves as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providers to ensure efficient transportation execution and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in logistics operations, export controls, and transportation management. This individual will be responsible for maintaining shipment visibility, managing carrier relationships, resolving transportation issues, and ensuring compliance with applicable trade and regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Do

Logistics Operations

- Coordinate and manage domestic and international shipments from origin through final delivery.
- Monitor shipment status and proactively identify, communicate, and resolve transportation issues or delays.
- Ensure accurate shipment documentation, tracking information, and operational records.
- Support the movement of high-value and business-critical assets while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Maintain visibility of shipments and provide timely updates to stakeholders.

Carrier & Transportation Management

- Serve as the primary operational point of contact for carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providers.
- Coordinate shipment bookings, transportation schedules, pickups, and deliveries.
- Monitor carrier performance against service expectations and established metrics.
- Investigate and resolve shipment exceptions, delays, damages, or lost shipments.
- Escalate critical transportation issues and drive resolution through collaboration with internal and external partners.

Export Controls & Trade Compliance

- Apply export control and trade compliance requirements to shipping activities.
- Review shipping documentation to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
- Partner with Trade Compliance, Legal, and Operations teams to facilitate compliant shipment execution.
- Support export licensing processes, restricted party screening requirements, and audit readiness activities.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and documentation.

Operational Excellence & Reporting

- Track and report key logistics metrics, including on-time delivery, shipment exceptions, and carrier performance.
- Analyze transportation data to identify trends, risks, and process improvement opportunities.
- Support the development and maintenance of logistics dashboards and operational reports.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost savings, and service quality.
- Assist with the development of standard operating procedures and best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and external logistics providers.
- Communicate shipment status, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
- Support operational planning and execution activities.
- Participate in business reviews and logistics governance processes.

Requirements

Mandatory:

- 3 + years of experience in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or related operations , including domestic and international shipments
- Strong experience in carrier and transportation management , including freight forwarders, shipment tracking, exception management, and delivery performance
- Working knowledge of export controls and trade compliance , including shipping documentation, customs requirements, restricted-party screening, and compliance records
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills , with the ability to manage escalations, analyze logistics KPIs, and drive resolution in a fast-paced environment
