About this role
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Support and participate in outreach activities to recruit a network hub of 25 home-based child
care (HBCC) providers/owners. This includes marketing and communication projects,
community events, and one-on-one conversations.
● Provide administrative and logistical support for a network of home-based child care providers.
● Support network members in identifying trainers, speakers, and professional services that
directly contribute to strengthening their childcare businesses, building strong relationships
within the network and the greater community, increasing the quality of the early care and
education they provide, and enhancing services to the children and families.
● Successful networks evolve to meet the changing needs of the members and reflect the
community in which they practice. Facilitate, promote, and participate in emerging work as
identified by the FCCN members and approved by the project director.
● Participate in data collection and reporting as required by the Early Childhood Investment
Corporation (ECIC) and Saginaw ISD/Great Start to Quality Eastern Resource Center to
satisfy grant requirements.
● Using data collection and reporting as tools to support continuous quality improvement.
● Participate in professional development activities (communities of practice, conferences,
webinars, etc.) as required or requested by the program director and/or ECIC that are relevant
to developing and sustaining the HBCC network.
● Participate in collaborative partnerships with other FCCN hubs in Michigan to strengthen the
HBCC system.
● Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
● Possess, at minimum an Associates degree in the field of early childhood, child development,
or related field of study. Bachelors preferred.
● Demonstrates effective communication techniques when working with other adults, including
active and reflective listening skills.
● Works cooperatively with a diverse population of stakeholders, community partners, early care
and education programs, program administrators and staff, children, and families.
● A strong knowledge of home-based child care programs.
● Has a comprehensive understanding of child development and at least five years of
experience working with young children and adult learners.
● Demonstrates understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and high-quality care.
● Has a strong familiarity with local, state, and national resources and organizations. Such as,
but not limited to: Home Grown, Erickson Institute, Michigan's Early Childhood Standards of
Quality, Great Start to Quality, Child Care Licensing, Great Start Collaboratives, Early On, etc.
● Commitment to equity, social justice, and inclusion in all practices and position responsibilities.
● Ability to manage own time, set priorities, and contribute to a team atmosphere.
