Civil Designer

Job Title: Remote Civil Designer Job Description The Civil Designer collaborates closely with civil, environmental, and structural engineers to develop detailed AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D drawings for civil infrastructure, site development, and dredging projects. This role manages the CAD component of multidiscipline projects from initiation through completion, supports staff engineers with technical design standards and workflows, and ensures accurate documentation of project drawings, including record and as-built updates. Responsibilities

- Create detailed AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D drawings for civil infrastructure, site development, and dredging projects in coordination with civil, environmental, and structural engineers.
- Develop dredge templates and calculate dredge volumes between existing and proposed surfaces to support dredging design and planning.
- Manage the CAD portion of multidiscipline projects from start-up through completion, actively monitoring and refining design details at each phase.
- Provide technical support to staff engineers on civil design standards, CAD workflows, and best practices within the Autodesk Civil 3D platform.
- Learn and apply new technologies and tools within the Autodesk Civil 3D design environment to improve efficiency and design quality.
- Coordinate design deliverables with other project disciplines to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with overall project objectives.
- Document, update, and maintain project drawings for record purposes, including preparation of accurate as-built drawings.
- Assist with civil design tasks related to grading, drainage, utilities, landfill design, groundwater design, and stormwater management as needed.
- Contribute to remedial design projects by preparing civil drawings and layouts that support environmental and site remediation objectives.

Essential Skills

- Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D with at least 3 years of experience using the platform for civil design projects.
- Strong civil design skills, including experience with site development, grading, drainage, utilities, landfill design, groundwater design, and stormwater systems.
- Ability to develop and interpret dredge templates and accurately calculate dredge volumes between existing and proposed surfaces.
- Experience supporting remedial design projects through preparation of civil drawings and layouts.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD for producing detailed civil infrastructure and site development drawings.
- Ability to coordinate and manage the CAD component of multidiscipline projects from initiation through completion.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documenting, updating, and preparing record and as-built drawings.
- Effective collaboration skills for working with civil, environmental, and structural engineers and other project disciplines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Familiarity with Hydrocad or similar stormwater modeling tools.
- Understanding of stormwater management principles and their application in civil design.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and enhancements within the Autodesk Civil 3D platform.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple project types and design tasks concurrently.
- Interest in working on a variety of civil infrastructure, site development, dredging, and remedial design projects.

Work Environment This position operates with a focus on computer-based design work using AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, and related civil design tools such as Hydrocad for stormwater modeling. The role typically follows a MondayFriday work schedule, supporting multiple project types and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
