MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Senior SharePoint Developer , the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customers. You will provide technical leadership for the architecture, modernization, development, integration, and governance of enterprise SharePoint solutions. You will play a crucial role in:
- Leading the architecture, design, modernization, and implementation of enterprise SharePoint Server and SharePoint Online solutions
- Defining SharePoint technical architecture, solution patterns, development standards, governance, security, and integration approaches
- Leading modernization and migration initiatives from SharePoint Server to SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365
- Architecting and developing custom SharePoint solutions using SharePoint Framework (SPFx), TypeScript, React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Designing reusable SPFx web parts, extensions, components, and libraries that support enterprise business requirements
- Providing technical leadership and code/design reviews for SharePoint and SPFx development activities
- Designing integrations between SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 services, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Graph
- Designing secure integrations with enterprise systems and data sources using Microsoft Graph, REST APIs, Azure services, and other supported integration technologies
- Evaluating requirements and determining when to use out-of-the-box SharePoint capabilities, SPFx/custom development, Power Platform, or other Microsoft 365 technologies
- Designing SharePoint information architecture, including sites, hubs, navigation, content types, metadata, taxonomy, search, and content organization
- Establishing architecture and design standards for SharePoint permissions, role-based access, external sharing, and secure information management
- Incorporating Microsoft Purview capabilities, including retention, information protection, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and compliance requirements, into SharePoint solution designs
- Designing scalable and supportable approaches for SharePoint Online site provisioning, lifecycle management, and governance
- Developing migration and modernization strategies, including content assessment, remediation, mapping, migration, validation, and post-migration support
- Supporting architecture and design decisions involving SharePoint Server infrastructure, including service applications, SQL Server, authentication, availability, performance, and disaster recovery
- Identifying opportunities to replace legacy SharePoint customizations and workflows with modern SharePoint, SPFx, Power Platform, and Microsoft 365 capabilities
- Establishing development, configuration management, source control, testing, deployment, and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) standards for SharePoint custom solutions
- Troubleshooting complex SharePoint architecture, development, integration, migration, performance, and security issues
- Producing solution architecture diagrams, technical designs, implementation plans, standards, and technical documentation
- Collaborating with SharePoint administrators, SPFx developers, Power Platform developers, Power BI developers, security teams, infrastructure teams, business analysts, and stakeholders
- Presenting architectural recommendations and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Providing technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to developers and administrators
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering and architecture expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Senior SharePoint Developer must have:
Education: BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field required
Experience:
- 6+ years of related experience designing, developing, administering, or architecting enterprise Microsoft collaboration and content-management solutions required
- Significant hands-on experience with SharePoint Server and SharePoint Online
- Demonstrated experience architecting enterprise SharePoint solutions and leading SharePoint modernization or migration initiatives
- Demonstrated hands-on experience designing and developing custom SharePoint solutions using SPFx
Required Skills
- High-level knowledge of SharePoint Online and strong knowledge of SharePoint Server architecture and capabilities
- Strong experience architecting enterprise SharePoint and Microsoft 365 solutions
- Strong hands-on experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx)
- Strong proficiency with TypeScript, React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for SharePoint development
- Experience developing SPFx web parts, extensions, reusable components, and enterprise SharePoint solutions
- Experience with Microsoft Graph, SharePoint REST APIs, and other enterprise APIs
- Experience integrating SharePoint with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Teams, and other Microsoft 365 services
- Strong understanding of SharePoint information architecture, including hub sites, site architecture, content types, metadata, taxonomy, navigation, and search
- Strong understanding of SharePoint security, permissions, authentication, role-based access, and external sharing
- Knowledge of Microsoft Purview retention, information protection, DLP, records management, and compliance capabilities as they apply to SharePoint
- Experience architecting and supporting SharePoint Server-to-SharePoint Online migrations and modernization
- Knowledge of SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT) and enterprise migration approaches and tools
- Strong understanding of SharePoint Server architecture, including service applications, IIS, SQL Server, authentication, availability, performance, and disaster recovery
- Experience establishing SharePoint development standards, reusable solution patterns, source control, code review, testing, and deployment practices
- Experience with Git and enterprise source-control/development platforms such as Azure DevOps
- Understanding of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and controlled deployment across development, test, and production environments
- Ability to evaluate business and technical requirements and recommend appropriate SharePoint, SPFx, Power Platform, or Microsoft 365 solution approaches
- Ability to troubleshoot complex architecture, development, integration, migration, security, and performance issues
- Ability to develop architecture diagrams, technical designs, standards, and implementation documentation
- Familiarity with Agile methodology
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to present architecture and technical recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to provide technical leadership, conduct design/code reviews, and mentor developers and administrators
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic enterprise environment and stay current with SharePoint, Microsoft 365, SPFx, and emerging Microsoft technologies

The likely salary range for this position is $110,500 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
