Job Title: Application Auditor Job Description
The Application Auditor reviews and processes driver applications to ensure full compliance with company policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. This role focuses on auditing pre-hire documentation, activating and maintaining accurate driver files, and supporting safety and compliance initiatives. The Application Auditor works closely with internal teams to provide timely, clear guidance on driver eligibility while delivering superior customer support.
Responsibilities
- Review and process driver applications in accordance with company policy and DOT regulations, advising on application status from a safety and compliance standpoint.
- Initiate and order online VOPES reports, monitor their progress, and clearly communicate status updates.
- Obtain and provide identification numbers as requested by internal stakeholders.
- Analyze PSP reports, document findings thoroughly, and advise on appropriate next steps based on safety and compliance considerations.
- Review all driver-related documents for clarity, completeness, and accuracy, and activate drivers promptly once requirements are met.
- Audit all pre-hire documents in Tenstreet to ensure that driver files are compliant and properly maintained.
- Maintain and follow up on all driver files from a pre-employment perspective, voiding, disqualifying, or activating driver files as needed.
- Assist with truck transfers, pay status changes, and ensure all related documents are accurately stored and updated in associated document storage systems for truck and driver transfers and reactivations.
- Provide clear and prompt email responses and support for UIIA database inquiries.
- Review IRS TIN matching results and perform follow-up actions to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
- Provide superior customer support to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring professional and timely communication.
- Order pre-hire reports as needed to support the driver hiring and compliance process.
- Prioritize duties effectively to manage workload and meet deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the safety, compliance, and hiring functions.
Essential Skills
- Working knowledge of company guidelines and DOT regulations related to driver hiring and safety compliance.
- Ability to navigate and work within the SWS/Driver Hiring-Compliance Portal.
- General computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when auditing documents and driver files.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to order and interpret pre-hire reports, including VOPES and PSP reports.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including clear and prompt email correspondence.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues in documentation and compliance and recommend solutions.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work some overtime as workload demands.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in auditing, internal audit, or similar auditing functions.
- Familiarity with Tenstreet or similar driver management and compliance systems.
- Experience working with IRS TIN matching processes and UIIA database inquiries.
- Bilingual support in Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Customer service experience, with a focus on providing professional and responsive support.
- Interest in building a career in safety, compliance, or transportation administration.
Work Environment
This is a fully onsite position in a professional office setting, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role involves extensive use of computers, Microsoft Office, compliance portals such as SWS/Driver Hiring-Compliance, and systems like Tenstreet and UIIA databases. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Collierville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
