The Southern Consumer 4P Manager serves as Lenovo's local Product Ambassador for the Consumer portfolio across Southern Africa, acting as the bridge between the regional Consumer Business Unit and the local sales organization. This role drives alignment across product strategy, pricing, portfolio direction, promotions, forecasting, and business priorities, while balancing regional objectives with local market opportunities and commercial realities. The ideal candidate combines strong product and category management expertise with commercial and financial acumen, strategic thinking, and exceptional stakeholder management skills. Success in this role requires the ability to influence and drive execution across multiple stakeholders without direct authority, while operating independently with limited day-to-day supervision.
What You Will Do:
- Co-own Consumer business performance across Southern Africa, including revenue, profitability, market share, and inventory health.
- Represent the MEA Consumer Business Unit locally and translate regional strategy into effective territory execution.
- Influence sales teams, distributors, partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive business priorities and product strategies.
- Lead business planning, forecasting, portfolio management, and regular performance reviews for the Southern market.
- Identify growth opportunities, competitive risks, performance gaps, and corrective actions to achieve business objectives.
- Support product launches, go-to-market execution, promotions, and demand generation activities across the territory.
- Maintain a strong operating cadence with sales teams on inventory management, sell-out plans, promotional activities, and products in transit.
- Use dashboards, business analytics, and data-driven reviews to identify gaps, track progress, and drive accountability through regular business checks.
- Build strong relationships with country leadership, sales teams, distributors, and key partners while maintaining commercial discipline and accountability.
- Operate independently as the primary Consumer 4P leader for the Southern market, driving execution with limited day-to-day supervision.
What We Look For:
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA is preferred.
- 5–7+ years of experience in product management, category management, consumer business management, portfolio management, or go-to-market management.
- Demonstrated experience with P&L ownership and strong financial and commercial acumen.
- Experience managing product portfolios within PCs, consumer electronics, tablets, mobility, technology hardware, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of the Southern African market, particularly South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Zambia, and its retail and channel ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, portfolio strategy, product launches, category strategy, market analysis, and GTM planning.
- Proven ability to influence without authority, challenge stakeholders constructively, and drive execution across cross-functional teams.
- Strong executive presence, negotiation, relationship-building, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong analytical and business planning capabilities, including forecasting, financial modelling, inventory management, revenue management, and market share analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, as well as business analytics and reporting tools.
- Strong AI literacy and the ability to use AI tools effectively to improve business analysis, planning, and execution.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
