Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Treasury Specialist, located in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

About you and this role:

As an advanced role within the LAA Treasury team, The Financial Planner is responsible for performing a broad range of complex work aligned with the Financial Planning & Funding work process including financial modeling of legal entities to prepare currency exposure and Cash flow forecast, analysis of capital structure and dividend planning, reconciliation of net interest expense and forex impact, manage all related insurance issues in Latin America among other things.

The Financial planner will optimize and/or develop forecasting tools to continuous improve forecasting and analysis accuracy. Additionally, will carry on negotiation with banks and financial brokerage firms,

The Financial Planner is expected to utilize in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge and interact with other Functions (like Financial & Statutory, Cost Accountant, Financial Operations, Business Finance and Tax) to analyze complex problems, take new perspectives on existing process and exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information seeking to determine status quo with recommendation for solving or forecasting such problem/risk. The planner will work independently with broad guidelines and in compliance and within Dow’s Company and Treasury policies with direct impact on P&L and supporting Financial Planning & Funding process globally.

Responsibilities:

- Main responsibility covers analyzing, forecasting and reporting of Foreign Currency exposure, financial position and financial expenses, and identifying, measuring and modeling main drivers of currency exposure and cash flow generation to avoid unplanned exposures and liquidity risks. Ensure actual FX result and Financial Expenses are accurately recorded and reconciled
- Provide timely and accurate treasury management reporting and forecasting, working closely with key finance and treasury leaderships, for the development and execution of optimum financial and treasury strategies.
- Timely analysis, forecasting and recommendation of optimum capital structure, Intercompany financing, dividend forecast and functional currency studies with an aim to achieve lowest overall risk-adjusted after-tax cost of capital and ensure optimal liquidity structure maximizing Dow’s ability to sterilize cash.
- Act as a treasury focal point in coordinating and executing treasury strategies for large capital project, corporate initiatives and corporate M&A transaction. Timely analysis and recommendation of optimum financial and business structures aiming to minimize financial risks (currency, interest rates, cash flow and liquidity).
- Requires understanding of Risk management applied to Financial and Operational process from Central Bank, Tax and Custom regulations for Brazil which set the framework where Financial Planner do his daily work and impact on defined strategies.
- Ability to work independently within broad guidelines and policies with minimal guidance and close interaction with Corporate Treasury, Accounting, Tax, Cost and other Finance functions in relation to Treasury transactions.

Experience

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Accounting or related discipline
- + 3 years related work experience.
- MBA or Master’s Degree in Finance is preferable.
- Prior Treasury related experience is also preferable

Your skills:

- Strong analytical, data organization, communication and collaboration skills required
- Good understanding of accounting and knowledge of financial market products
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken) is a must,
- Fluent Spanish (both written and spoken) is very desirable.
- Proficient user of computer software such Microsoft office (Excel, Access, PowerBI), SAP and Diamond system Report (DSR), is a must.
- Proficient user of Treasury systems (Quantum), is desirable
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with ability to simplify complex problems and effectively identify and execute appropriate solutions
- Experience in handling multiple priorities
