About this role

Rchling Automotive is seeking a motivated Tooling Technician Apprentice to join our Tooling Department. This is a hands-on apprenticeship opportunity designed for individuals who are mechanically inclined and eager to learn tooling, mold maintenance, troubleshooting, fabrication, and industrial manufacturing processes.

This position is part of a structured 3-4 year apprenticeship program . Candidates must be willing to attend and successfully complete required classroom instruction, technical training, and related educational coursework in addition to on-the-job training. Participation in school and maintenance of satisfactory academic progress are required as part of the program.

Responsibilities

- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on molds, tooling, and related equipment.

- Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

- Learn to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.

- Support mold repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities.

- Perform basic welding, fabrication, machining, and bench work.

- Help maintain preventative maintenance schedules and tooling documentation.

- Enter and update work orders and maintenance records.

- Assist Tooling Supervisors and Managers with special projects.

- Follow all safety, quality, environmental, and company procedures.

Qualifications

Required:

- High School Diploma or GED.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and desire to learn a skilled trade.

- Willingness to attend technical school/classes as required by the apprenticeship program.

- Ability to commit to a 3-4 year apprenticeship that combines classroom education and hands-on training.

- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and lift up to 50 lbs.

- Reliable transportation to work and training locations.

Preferred:

- Technical school coursework or vocational training.

- Manufacturing, maintenance, automotive, machining, or industrial experience.

- Basic welding or fabrication experience.
