Job Title: Specialist Electrical Engineer

KBR Abu Dhabi PMC Team is currently seeking experienced professionals for the position listed below in support of a major Offshore Project. The role will be based at either the Client's Office or the Contractor's Office in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Job Purpose

The Specialist Electrical Engineer will provide specialist technical expertise and engineering assurance for electrical systems associated with a major ADNOC Offshore project.

The role will coordinate, monitor and review electrical engineering activities performed by the EPC Contractor, ensuring that designs and engineering deliverables comply with applicable ADNOC standards, relevant codes, project specifications and engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

·       Provide specialist technical expertise across electrical design and engineering activities.

·       Review and monitor electrical engineering activities performed by the EPC Contractor to ensure completion in accordance with project requirements and schedules.

·       Ensure electrical designs comply with relevant codes, standards and applicable ADNOC requirements.

·       Perform regular technical reviews of electrical engineering deliverables prepared by engineering consultants and EPC Contractors, ensuring design quality and engineering integrity.

·       Review design documents such as:

o   Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)

o   Electrical philosophies and specifications

o   Electrical load lists

o   Equipment datasheets

o   Electrical calculations and studies

o   Cable schedules

o   Electrical equipment layouts

o   Cable routing layouts

o   Earthing and lightning protection layouts

o   Electrical equipment requisitions

·       Review technical specifications and engineering requirements for major electrical equipment.

·       Provide specialist technical input for electrical equipment selection and technical evaluations.

·       Review EPC Contractor and vendor documentation and resolve electrical technical queries.

·       Coordinate with other engineering disciplines within the integrated project team and with EPC Contractor, engineering, operations and site interfaces to resolve technical issues.

·       Participate in multidisciplinary technical and design reviews.

·       Provide specialist advice for resolution of complex electrical engineering issues.

·       Monitor EPC Contractor performance and electrical engineering deliverables.

·       Ensure electrical engineering integrity is maintained throughout project execution.

·       Support resolution of site technical issues relating to electrical installations and equipment.

·       Provide technical support during construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up, as required by the project.

·       Coordinate electrical interfaces with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation & Control, Telecom, Civil/Structural and other disciplines.

·       Support technical clarification and evaluation activities associated with electrical equipment and packages.

·       Promote technically sound, safe, reliable and maintainable electrical designs.

For this requirement, candidates should ideally demonstrate strong technical experience in offshore electrical systems such as:

·       Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)

·       UPS and DC Systems

·       Battery / Battery Charger Systems

·       Earthing / Grounding Systems

·       Lightning Protection

·       Lighting Systems

·       Electrical Heat Tracing

·       Hazardous Area Electrical Systems

Qualifications & Experience

·       Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

·       Extensive experience in electrical engineering within the Oil & Gas / Energy sector .

·       Strong experience in offshore Oil & Gas facilities and EPC/PMC project environments .

·       Demonstrated experience reviewing EPC Contractor electrical designs and engineering deliverables.

·       Previous ADNOC / ADNOC Offshore project experience is highly preferred for this requirement.

·       Strong understanding of offshore electrical equipment, systems, installation practices and engineering interfaces.

·       Strong knowledge of relevant electrical engineering codes, standards and industry best practices. The published ADNOC Offshore PMC specialist role specifically requires designs to comply with relevant codes and ADNOC standards.

·       Experience across detailed engineering and relevant procurement, construction and commissioning interfaces.

·       Strong multidisciplinary coordination and technical problem-solving capabilities.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
