People Operations Specialist

We are looking for People Operations Specialist to provide operational and administrative support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring the efficient delivery of People services and a positive employee experience.
The People Operations Specialist will be responsible for processing HR transactions, maintaining employee data, and workforce administration activities, assist with compliance requirements, and respond to employee and leader inquiries. This role will work collaboratively with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Centers of Excellence, and other stakeholders to support business and employee needs.
***This role will be in office 4 days a week at the KBR Tower on Jefferson Street in Houston***
Responsibilities:
- Support employee lifecycle processes from hire to exit, including employee changes, leave-related transactions, and terminations
- Process and maintain employee data within Workday and other HR systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and data integrity
- Prepare, maintain, and manage HR records, documentation, and correspondence in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements
- Serve as a point of contact for routine employee and leader inquiries, providing timely support and escalating more complex matters when appropriate
- Generate standard and ad hoc HR reports and support data validation, auditing, and reporting activities
- Coordinate responses to employment-related documentation requests, including subpoenas, employment verifications, and records inquiries, partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal and company requirements
- Assist with People programs, projects, and process improvement initiatives to support operational effectiveness and service delivery
- Support employee engagement and inclusion initiatives that contribute to a positive workplace culture and employee experience
- Build effective working relationships and collaborate with People Team colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to achieve business objectives
- Partner with Payroll and other internal stakeholders to support employee transactions and ensure the accurate and timely processing of employee data, organizational changes, and personnel actions
- Leverage HR systems and workforce data to support process improvements, maintain data integrity, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and employee experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
- Human Resources, People Operations, shared services, or related administrative experience
- 0 – 3 years of experience
- Or in lieu of formal education 8 -15 + years of experience
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service mindset
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining confidential information
- Ability to analyze complex issues, exercise sound judgment, and develop effective solutions while balancing employee, business, and compliance considerations
- Microsoft Office applications and other business systems
- Proven ability to work independently, collaborate effectively with others, and adapt to changing business needs
Preferred:
- Proficient with HR systems and employee data management preferred & Workday experience is a plus
